I'm trying to find a decent monitor for my dad who's eyesight is getting kind of bad.
Would this be a good buy or no? Should I go bigger? I'm trying to keep it in the under $150 range.

What size and resolution is his current monitor? For bad eye sight, I'd go with something under 1440x900 resolution (even better if 1366x768)... Higher resolutions will only mean more squinting.
Of course, you could just change the DPI on the current machine and it would resolve your dad's problems. Saves you money too. 11/23/2009 4:18:25 PM |

I'm not sure, he has an older emachine. He said he's already changed the settings and that now he needs a new computer. He's in NC and I'm in NY so it's not like I can check lol 11/23/2009 4:35:52 PM |

If you really want to buy it from Best Buy, just make sure to get a 1366x768 one. That way, he won't have to worry about DPI "settings" or messing up the focus by going below the native resolution. 11/23/2009 4:55:21 PM |
