got the pivot arm off no prob, put on the throwout bearing and the pivot arm doesnt seem to clip all that tight onto the socket (would imagine the springs are pretty worn out). basically if i pull laterally at all it will pull right off. how tight is that ball and socket joint supposed to be? 11/26/2009 2:40:00 PM |

you tlking about the ball stud on the tranny that the arm snaps onto? The spring clip is just there to hold it in position, mainly during assembly. There's not really enough free play for it to come off when everything's together and adjusted. I'm presuming that this is on a Fox body with a cable clutch. 11/27/2009 3:34:20 PM |

my one experience was the same as yours. i didnt feel too confident in it but once it is installed (as others have said ) you will be fine. 11/27/2009 11:47:47 PM |

basically i think the springs were just a bit bent out of shape, ended up picking up a new one at advance for $20, figured better safe than sorry.
the new one definitely snapped on much more securely. 11/29/2009 6:55:49 PM |
