What is everyone planning on getting their significant other for Christmas?

Mine just had a birthday in November and I used all of my creativity/sweetness on that. I was thinking of Victoria Secret Gift card/wine w/pink bow, not sure what else (I'd like to keep it at or around $100).

Suggestions? What are you doing?

i did an awesome one last year.

bought a journal and researched the best hiking/camping/rock climbing areas and wrote down the top 25 or so with descriptions, GPS coordinates and room for him to put photos or notes of his travels in them.

accompanied that with different trail/rock climbing books with more information.

I got a baller piece of art commissioned from his favorite woot tshirt designer. I ordered it so it would fit perfectly on an awkward wall in our new place... Its a combination of a few of our favorite things, so its super personal and "us". Its pretty adorable. I'm so excited!

ugh, i hate the "this is a set up, this is a trick" mindset

here is what is going on

she is probably ok with asheville being the gift to each other, but you will really impress her and win some points if you ignore that and have a gift prepared anyway. even if its small, just make it thoughtful.

girls absolutely fucking love when guys do things they dont "have" to do. like preparing a small but thoughtful gift or surprise after you already agreed not to exchange.

her getting "mad" at you not having anything for her is not making it a trick or set up, its just that she had this expectation or wish in her head that she hoped you would do and you didnt and she's a little let down by that. you're not in trouble, its just girl logic.

so if you really want to impress this chick, use your head and spend $20 or something to surprise her with something sweet. if not, just do nothing and maybe she won't even notice. but i dont think she's going to get mad at you for breaking the agreement
