Hey guys, I am looking to get some volunteering in over break just around the Raleigh/Cary area. Do you guys know of any places to do some volunteering at i.e. soup kitchens, clinics, shelters etc...just general service projects. I normally do Habitat for Humanity thru NCSU but they dont do that over break.

i volunteered with the dallas salvation army last year sorting out angel tree gifts and bagging them for families to pick up, you could look into that although its getting short on time, they may have other stuff to help with.

You can come clean my house and watch my kids ... for free if it makes you feel all yummy inside.

I've been looking into doing some volunteer work myself. I'm sure the food bank of central/eastern nc can use anyone's help. However I did check out the Raleigh Rescue Mission Site

I wasn't aware that you can't join a host of a meal as an individual (you have to sign up as a group). We could get a TWW group going! Also, since it's the holiday season a lot of people have signed up so it looks like Dec. 27th and Jan 1st are the only dinners that need hosts.

Planned Parenthood always needs volunteers in the clinic and other departments.

You can volunteer at YMCA

http://www.ymcatriangle.org/Helping_Others/Volunteering.aspx

Or you can go to the check in desk and pick up a volunteer application.

With 9 figures of profits....err, excuse me, "excess revenue,"...with much of it from taxpayers, I don't think they really need volunteers.

Help some organization that couldn't operate without volunteers, like a food bank or even a thrift store or any other actual charity.

Volunteering? Shouldn't House be busy trying to avoid clinic hours this time of year?
