The trailers really don't give this movie justice. If you liked Kill Bill, Shoot Em Up, hell any kind of over the top movie, you will enjoy Kick-Ass.

My first post in this thread was made in haste and ignorance.

I am worried and far less interested after reading up on it more and hearing more about it.

Matthew Vaughn is mediocre. Mark Millar also blows. Wanted sucks dick and this seems like it may have a similar tone. "LOOK HOW BADASS THIS IS. LOOK."

I thought it was going to be more than that. probably going to wait for netflix. I'd rather see Defendor.

didn't anyone else know the word "cunt" is apparently extremely taboo? i had no idea it was that bad until someone was talking about this movie on cnn and was appalled that the little girl said the "c-word" several times in the film. i don't think i've ever said it myself, but i didn't know it was on par with or even worse than fuck and shit to some.

There's an entire group of people that think it's the most derogatory thing that can be said to a woman, bar none.

Personally... it's certainly not as versatile as fuck, or even shit, but it does have a certain auditory punch to it... perhaps it's the relative rarity that makes it such a great curse, like a delicacy to be sampled on special occasion, or used lightly for a bit of extra surprise and humor.

actually, the people in the interview said she made a "bad role model", but that it was refreshing to see an empowering young girl that beats up bad guys rather than one that gets abused or molested.
