well, I remember the case where acid was thrown at a ladies face from a guy that she refused to marry and this blinded her. I believe the punishment was going to be that the guy was going to be blinded also. I do not know if they actually occurred or not. Which is worse, no nose or ears or being disfigured and blinded by acid? I guess since you would not be able to see the disfigurement that maybe the acid would be better?

I do, but when I read stories like this my first instinct is that yes, the punishment should fit the crime and that I have no problem with these kids getting butchered up. Whenever anything similar happens here and the evidence appears overwhelming, my first instinct is often "fuck a trial, take them out back and shoot them."

Of course, thats why we have our judicial system, so that people aren't executed on knee jerk reactions from individuals like me and instead have to face a cool-headed institution. I fully support our constitution for that reason.

In some situations the ceremony of a trial is a waste of money, as is any time the prisoner is spent in jail on the gov'ts (read: taxpayer's) dime.
