More like, "damn bat shit lady and man on the beach" but I just get the stinking suspicion they are god damn bible thumping stay the fuck off my lawn Republicans.

Just went for a nice afternoon stroll on the beach with my two dogs, my wife, her parents, and their dog. We are about .5 mile down the beach and both of my dogs decided it was shit time. We bagged it up and since they've taken all the garbage cans off the beach, we usually take the bags up near the dunes if we're going to be doing some more walking and then pick them up on our way back.

My wife carries the bags up there and is about 10 feet away from setting them down when this lady comes trotting out from her multi million dollar beach front home yelling at us to pick them up. We try to be reasonable and mention to her that we're going to pick them up on the way back...oh hell no, she isn't having that shit. Fair enough...until the obnoxious bitch yells at us that we've been leaving other bags in front of her property and telling my wife to just shut up and leave.

I flew off the handle and started yelling at her which brought her probably 60 yr old husband out there yelling about the $50 fine and snapping pictures of me and telling me he is going to have me hauled off to the county jail if I don't get off his property...umm, I'm on a public beach (yes, I know his line extends to the water, I still have a right to be on the beach).

These are not liberals. No fucking way.

Anyway, for the next 2 months until we move, I know exactly where I am headed on beach walks when I take my dogs.

No, I had that convo with my wife as we were walking away. I can totally see it from his angle. But in a massive beach, why would we keep leaving bags of shit at the same guys house arbitrarily?

Actually, there were about 20 Christmas Trees, 2 tent frames, and two ugly beach chairs in the same spot...and my wife said the lady was bitching something about "they always leave stuff piled up in front of our house"...This home was in a neighborhood, not just a random one. So my hunch is, they suck, their neighbors know it, and they are the ones that put all the trees there and leave bags of poop in front of the house.

The husband had a camera out there, he could have just snapped a pic. Actually, it seems like he was hell bent on calling the cops and telling them the other bags were ours regardless. That isn't my beef at all. Had she said "Can you please not leave that there" even after we said we were going to pick it up on the way back, I would have probably grumbled that she sucks but I would have understood completely.

It's when a bitch comes out all irate, yelling, telling my wife to just shut up like we're some sort of inferior people, and accusing me of doing something that I certainly didn't do. That's when I have a problem.

Oh, and I am fairly certain when we were already walking away she yelled "trash, or white trash" but it's possible she was just reiterating that we put the poop in the trash.

why don't you look up the law if you don't believe me. besides, almost all of the public access beaches that you can drive on in NC are on federal and state land, not in front of private property. the only beaches I know of where you can drive on beaches with private property in front of them require special permits usually issued through the incorporated limits.

You do? It's the beach in the dead of winter. Even today when we got some real reprieve from the cold we still only passed maybe 20-25 people in 1 mile of beach. I don't think it is exactly unreasonable to put a bag of poop up out of the way so the few people there don't inadvertently step on it while we walk another 45 minutes down the beach.

I guarantee you that 95 out of 100 people that own waterfront property will know their property boundaries and how the law protects their property rights, considering they are shelling out over a million dollars.

regarding Emerald Isle, you have to buy a permit to drive on the beach inside the incorporated limits of the town. Considering that the island wasn't even inhabited in 1955, it may have been one of the stipulations of purchasing land on the island and covered under the charter. You probably couldn't even drive on the dirt road they bulldozed down the center of the island after a heavy rain.
