thanks man i'm on their site checking it out right now.
I was drifting for hours in the parking lot today, got a big ego and thought i could pull through a tight place and slammed into the curb. A buddy said went a foot and a half in the air when I hit, i'll have pics of the damage later.
if anyone still has some let me know. 1/30/2010 4:37:18 PM |

Need a new rear sway bar and lower control arm. I got the control arm covered but i'm going to need a new sway bar (bent to hell).
Did a brief google/ebay search but didn't really like what i saw. You guys have a recommended site? 3/17/2010 12:17:14 PM |

lol, I can imagine you didn't have any luck with that.
As far as your rear sway bar (AKA anti-roll bar) have you considered anything aftermarket? You could probably buy a thicker bar that will improve your handling for less money than an OEM replacement (unless you manage to find one used at a junkyard).3/17/2010 12:35:14 PM |

^hahaha no, but i got a new wheel like the one i was looking for for $60 shipped so i considered it a win.
Just got through calling all the auto salvage yards i could and came up short on the sway bar. I'm looking at http://www.procivic.com now and found this:
http://www.procivic.com/pages-product_car_part_info/category-69_117/product-1358/index.html (rear 16mm for 01-05) .
It doesn't matter if it's OEM or aftermarket. Just list some sites or stores that you think i should check out. 3/17/2010 12:48:40 PM |

^^damn, $60 for that wheels is amazing, if its in good shape. That's a fairly desireable wheel (I even considered buying a set at one point ) 3/17/2010 1:37:49 PM |

^tell me about it. The wheel had a minor scratch on the outer ridge but it's nothing noticeable.

Has anyone here changed bushings without a press? I think i can handle this DIY but it'd be great to hear from someone who's done it in the past and if they've had any regrets.
http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2411953
just to verify, this is what i'm after if i'm trying to replace my front end control arm bushings, right? (2001-2005 Front end control arm set)
http://www.procivic.com/pages-product_car_part_info/category-69_118/product-297/index.html
Also, will there be a big difference if i changed the bushing one side and not the other? I imagine it's a noticeable difference but it won't hurt to ask.

if you use a regular joe C clamp, make sure you put sockets on both sides. you can probably find the clamp thats in that thread at carquest/napa/harborfreight.
btw your control arm is different than the one in the thread. the rear bushing on that arm is pretty big from what I can remember. same with the front, but not as much of a PITA.
make sure you dont bust the boot on the ball joint as well. take the cotter pin out, loosen the crown nut and unscrew it until its flush with the top of the bolt (that way if your hammer happens to slip and you hit that area, you wont damage the threads).. and take a hammer and goto town on the sides of the hole where the ball joint sits on the control arm. after a few whacks, itll loosen up and you're good to go. holler if you need help 3/17/2010 4:33:02 PM |

I decided to just take the control arm off and take it to a shop to get it pressed with the new bushing instead of doing it myself. Called carquest and they'll have a lower control arm bushing for me tomorrow by 10am.
Between jacking the car, taking off the control arm, taking it to get pressed and putting it all back on, i suspect it will take about 5-6hrs?
just finished ordering the sway bar and it ought to be here by middle of next week, $115 brand new shipped.

control arm bushing replaced.
rear sway bar replaced.
now i need to change the bearing for my rear driver side wheel (There is a humming sound that alternates between low and high intensity, noticeable above ~40mph.... also the steering wheel isn't level when my wheels are straight)
If i had all the right tools i know i could pull this project off, but i don't so i think i'm going to have to go somewhere to get it done
What kind of damage i'm i looking at, fiscally speaking of course.
EDIT: hmm, I think i'll just replace the Hub, i can get it with the bearing for $60 from autopartswarehouse. How hard would that be?
