This is in Wake County. Trying to help a minor out, and all the topics on this are several years old. I'm sure there are a lot of people on TWW that have had this problem. 2/3/2010 9:52:15 PM |

i wouldn't have guessed this angle but with lewoods you never know - is his plan to sue the people that allowed him to become in possession of the alcohol in the first place? 2/3/2010 10:13:38 PM |

if its the first one, dont waste time and money with a lawyer. just do the first offenders program.
if this "friend" is a dumb fuck and gets caught repeatedly, then hire said lawyer. 2/3/2010 10:39:05 PM |

its like the 40/42 program or something like that.
they give you a workshop to attend and drop the case.
it costs but its worth it 2/4/2010 2:17:24 AM |

I am 27, it would be impossible for me to get a possession ticket since I can have alcohol.
No suing, just making a ticket go away. 2/4/2010 8:39:07 AM |

back when i got a ticket, I did the 90-90 program. First Saturday, about 40 of us waited outside in the 20 degree weather for the 'teacher' to show. Never came. We left by 9:30
Second Saturday, the lady shows up. It's this older (50 something maybe?) hardcore, large black lady. She was a lot like Madea, for serious. It was entertaining as hell to listen to her stories and profanity. 2/4/2010 2:10:40 PM |

^^when he asked me how i heard of him i told him i got it from this site. he said that he is familiar with it and has helped a few people from here. he then told me his normal fee was X and he'd just charge me Y but to send him some business some time.
I have since PM'd many twwers and made sure they went to see him and sent many friends. My friends who never mentioned tww had a higher price for the same offense 2/5/2010 9:31:40 AM |

doesnt need to do anything but pay it. its an infraction
the only thing a lawyer is going to do is something anyone can do themselves...which is to have their record expunged.
problem is you can only do that once. i would wait until later in life to use the expungement since the drinking ticket is a laughable offense and something more frowned upon could happen to them in their less mature years.
im not a lawyer by any means, but i did it so i know something about it. 2/5/2010 12:46:30 PM |

^^ so you've never applied for a federal job?
expungement does nothing but get it off your general record. That shit is still up there if you apply for a federal job. 2/5/2010 3:48:41 PM |

actually it blocks it from both federal and state background checks.
not to mention it is an infraction that wont stop you from getting a job.
ive never applied for a job 2/5/2010 4:50:36 PM |

WRONG. Underage drinking in NC is a class 1 misdemeanor, if you plead guilty for the rest of your life you will likely have to disclose it on any type of application that asks or be disqualified. Being a cheap ass over $100 (in lawyer fees over and above the cost of the ticket) is really stupid in this situation.2/7/2010 9:23:40 AM |

I second Berryman J. Fitzhugh, III. AHAHA, that names always makes me laugh.
But, seriously, with Trey, I always felt that I was getting the soundest, fairest, most professional representation available. He made all my legal troubles practically painless--like, my dad and I would just go visit Trey for a bit and then go have breakfast and talk about how lucky we were to have discovered such a perfect attorney.
And from comparing stories with friends, I've learned that his fees are competitive and affordable, too.2/7/2010 10:39:04 AM |
