Does anyone use capital bank and their smart checking services? They are offering great interest rates 4% apr and up to $20/month in atm fee reimbursement. Thinking about switching over.

You know, normally, when it comes to a thread like this, I'd be researching this myself and then finding the unpleasant nugget of [whatever], and then trying to do a bit of consumer education, if necessary.

But your post history tells me that it'd all be lost on you and that you're a blathering idiot.

So I'm not even gonna waste my time.

Ambrosia, if you dont have anything positive or helpful to add to the discussion please refrain from posting. Appreciate any feedback from any capital bank customers.

They just lowered the amount they pay the 4%(used to be 5%) on to the first $10,000(used to be first $25,000). They also used to have unlimited ATM reimbursement(since they have ZERO atms.) They're also going nationwide soon(http://www.capitalbank-us.com)

Other than having very few branches, I've had no problems. They occasionally have cookouts where you can meet the big wigs.

To be fair, your post reeks of Chit Chat rather than The Lounge.

Why?

Cause I called him out on presenting himself as a lazy idiot, or because I failed to do so in conjunction with more helpful content?

Instead, a post simply consisting of "^^^" would have been lounge-worthy, eh?

No, just that the point of separating The Lounge and Chit Chat is to try to make it informative, whereas Chit Chat is perfect for "screwing around" ala

anything that seems too good to be true should be viewed with skepticism...why would a bank borrowing at 50 bps lend to you at x+350 bps?

4% on $10,000 is chump change to get you in the door. Then they can rape you on proper loans throughout your life.

Crescent State Bank pays 5% for the first 25,000 in your account, and you can have two accounts. There are a few catches like you need to use their ATM 10 time a month and you need a monthly draft going into it. But they have some local branches and their customer service is excellent.

We like our smart checking account. We keep the balance right at the 25,000 limit and make 4% on it. Thats better than any CD I have seen this year. If you got the cash and want to keep it liquid this is not a bad idea. We only draft our bills out of this account. I would not want a debit card that could be easily lost or stolen linked to 25,000. We keep anther checking account at SECU for our regular purchases.

Good info..the rates at my current financial institution are pretty low so I'm looking for liquidity and higher rates. Looks like crescent and capital bank both have attractive offerings.
