I have a great bet as to what does down:

We play a decent first half and go up by around 12. Then in the second half we start missing baskets, we have a couple very bad calls go against us and immediately go on a scoring drought for the remainder of the game.

anybody know what's the school record for consecutive conference losses? we finished last year with a 9 game losing streak, if you count our first round loss in the ACC-T

that 99-00 losing streak was a real bitch. 2 three point losses, 2 five point losses, 1 six point loss, 1 eight point loss...and an 18 point loss

that's the year we went to MSG for the NIT semifinals. could have easily been an NCAA year if some of those heartbreakers went the other way

One depressing fact is the last time we had a regulation conference win streak greater than five games, the streak was at 31 games... '72-'75.

What is sad is that in both those cases, we had a good record going into the streak. 15-7 (4-4) in 2008...certainly worth NCAA bubble talk in early February. In 2000, we were 15-4 (5-3) before the game in College Park...that was the game where Damon Thornton appeared to get the and 1 but instead got called for the charge. I think we were in black uniforms in that game. Just like that, our NCAA team was headed toward an NIT run.

That was my freshman year. That game was actually on the Saturday afternoon of the fabled UNC campout back when campouts were actually campouts. That debauchery is what caused the University to end the tradition... and frankly, being a part of it, I don't blame them one bit.
