Link to take test:
http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp

I know these type tests have popped up else where on Tdub in the past, but I'd be interested to see if there are any trends among soapbox regulars. And it'll be nice to have a thread where we don't have to debate anything, and can just talk about results.

I just had to take this for a class and I was ENTJ. I knew I had taken this for another class before, and afterward I found my old results, and I was an ENTJ back then too. I tried a few different myers-briggs personality type questionnaires and my results were pretty consistent so I don't think it really matters which one you take.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keirsey_Temperament_Sorter
You can use that link, and scroll down until you see the table below, and click on it to see more information on what your specific type means, as well as some notable people who shared your type. The right column has the name for each type.

I think this could be an interesting addition to all those political alignment tests that pop up in the soap box. What type are you?

My results:
Fieldmarshal
E 39
N 63
T19
J 28

It says I'm an architect.

Although these things are totally susceptible to self-flattery. I should have my wife fill this out for me for a more accurate result.

not a fan of some of the questions, but it came out intp. I've always generally been int and then back and forth on the p/j depending on the test

I'm not sure about the self-flattery, I mean yes, all the results talk about how great that particular type is, but since they also say every type is great and focus on the strengths of the type, I'm not sure it biases it in one way or another. And as long as you take the test before studying the different result types and what the letters mean, it is hard to aim for a particular one.

If you're up for it, and haven't close the window yet, or still remember the specific scores, share them too. It'll make for a more interesting comparison if we can see how strongly each type is represented.

So far everyone who has taken it and posted their results has fallen into the Rational block (blue block from image above). Not a lot of diversity yet.

INFP

* slightly expressed introvert
* distinctively expressed intuitive personality
* moderately expressed feeling personality
* moderately expressed perceiving personality

It's been a while since I've taken one of these tests.

Sometimes I do like to be engaged in an active and fast-paced job, other times I don't. Sometimes I like meeting and hanging out with lots of different people. Other times I don't.

I always hate tests like this.

^^, ^^^

the writers of the test are aware of those issues

your typology can change actually, it’s not meant to be stagnant

and the reasoning you choose to come up with which of the options you pick is also a factor. the fact that you question it, where someone else may not, is built into the outcome of the test. IOW, pick some rationale for choosing an answer, and stick with it.

INTP. "The Architect."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Architect_(Role_Variant)

It's pretty much me to a T.

Quote :
"Architects are introspective, pragmatic, informative, and attentive. The scientific systemization of all knowledge, or Architectonics, is highly developed in Architects, who are intensely curious and see the world as something to be understood. Their primary interest is to determine how things are structured, built, or configured. Architects are designers of theoretical systems and new technologies. Rearranging the environment to fit their design is a distant goal of Architects.

Architects are logically and verbally precise. In casual conversations, they may be tempted to point out errors the other speaker makes, with the simple goal of maintaining clarity within the exchange. In serious discussions, Architects' abilities to detect distinctions, inconsistencies, contradictions, and frame arguments gives them an enormous advantage. In debates, Architects can sometimes be devastating, or alienate themselves from the group with overly logical arguments.

Architects tend to analyze the world in depth. They prefer to quietly work alone and they may shut other people out if they are focused on analysis. This, coupled with the fact that Architects are often quiet, makes it difficult for other individuals to get to know them. In social exchanges, Architects are more interested in informing others about what they have learned than they are interested in directing the actions of others.

Credentials or other forms of traditional authority do not impress Architects. Instead, logically coherent statements are the only things that seem to persuade them. Architects highly value intelligence, and can be impatient with people with less ability than they have. Architects often perceive themselves as being one of the few individuals capable of defining the ends a society must achieve and will often strive to find the most efficient means to accomplish their ends. This perspective can make Architects seem arrogant to others."

That said:

lazarus - INTJ, Mastermind

"Masterminds are rare, comprising no more than, say, one percent of the population, and they are rarely encountered outside their office, factory, school, or laboratory. Although they are highly capable leaders, Masterminds are not at all eager to take command, preferring to stay in the background until others demonstrate their inability to lead. Once they take charge, however, they are thoroughgoing pragmatists. Masterminds are certain that efficiency is indispensable in a well-run organization, and if they encounter inefficiency-any waste of human and material resources-they are quick to realign operations and reassign personnel. Masterminds do not feel bound by established rules and procedures, and traditional authority does not impress them, nor do slogans or catchwords. Only ideas that make sense to them are adopted; those that don't, aren't, no matter who thought of them. Remember, their aim is always maximum efficiency."

That is actually pretty accurate, especially part in bold.

The only type that correlates with intelligence is N and Ns have higher IQs than Ses generally.

There are some other correlations with race, education, and sex there too.

If you still have access to your NCSU account, you can get the full-text via the library’s website, which is what i was trying to link (since presumably a fair amount of us are students).

Way to act like an S there.
