Large pics are fine to put in threads just like posting the sales meme is fine to put in threads. At least one of mods is on the record as not having a problem with the sales meme so I'm not sure how a large on topic pic is any worse than the sales meme. If you don't like it, get adblock or write a greasemonkey script. Get a faster internet connection. Etc.
