sooooo. Thanks to all of you who came out to the midnight tours I gave during the last snow. I had well over 100 folks come out. Great turnout!
I'm pretty sure the input I got from those will go into the Segway tour I developed for the folks down in the City Market.
I'll be leading a segway tour of campus this Saturday, March 20th at 10am starting @ the Tower.
There's more info on the site. http://www.trianglesegway.com/Triangle_Segway/Triangle_Segway.html
They've set the price at $55 i think. Which is still a little pricey, I think, for students. They've told me they are working on a student discount. The route is pretty awesome and covers about 3 miles and will only be offered on weekends when there isn't much student traffic.
This tour will cover a lot more than I have in previous tours: all of North Campus, and most of Central Campus. Tons of sweet stories.

I would do this for $25. 3/15/2010 2:22:15 PM |

I think part of their reasoning is that they have to spend extra time and money to get the machines transported here from downtown. To ride them from downtown would be a bitch (construction and incomplete walks) and it would take an extra 20-30 mins both ways. 3/15/2010 2:25:19 PM |

I'll be goddamned if I'm gonna pay $55 to ride around on a shitscooter on the same campus I've already trekked over many times.
I <3 your tour(s), but the segway thing is just a gimmick. Plz to update when you do an extensive tour like this, but without the scooters. 3/15/2010 4:35:52 PM |

Yeah, $55 does seem like way too much; especially if your primary audience is college kids. If it were around $25, thats not terrible and you could probably get decent business.
That being said, I'm bummed I missed the last tour - how often do you do them? 3/15/2010 7:27:37 PM |

well, the target audience are alums and parents, etc. But, we wanna make it lucrative for students with a discount.
