I bought this car 3 years ago from an auto wholesaler in Cary. Before him, the Angier Police Department used it. Before that, it was part of the State Highway Patrol's fleet.
There are no antenna holes in the body, just some rust on the trunklid from the antenna clips they used. There are some screw holes around the interior (dashboard, headliner, rear package tray) from equipment mounting.
This car has served me well, but now I need something a little easier on gas. It's hard to stay off the throttle and get good mileage in this car.
I've done all the work on this car since I bought it (oil changes, trans flush, and intake manifold replacement to name a few). Full records are available since I bought the car.

*** I've also installed the complete instrument cluster from a 2003 Mercury Marauder. No, it is not a direct swap. It took me a long time to wire it correctly. The mileage in the gauge cluster matches the mileage on the body. The Marauder gauge cluster includes fuel level, coolant temp, speedometer and yes, a tachometer! Everything on the instrument cluster is fully functional. Wrecked Marauders are rare, and these instrument clusters aren't cheap if you can even find them. ***

The engine doesn't even have 90,000 miles on it yet. This car still has a lot of life left in it. It's very smooth on the roads all the way up to freeway speed. I just replaced the upper ball joints as well as the swaybar links and bushings in the front, and the bushings in back. It handles pretty well for a 2 ton sedan. I had 3 new tires (with a lifetime warranty) put on 2 years ago. All 4 tires have plenty of life left on the tread.

There's also a Pioneer head unit installed (CD-R/RW, MP3, WMA, AUX IN, XM capable) as well as wiring for subs in the trunk.

Why in the hell do people alter the license tags in photos of their car???????????? Every mile you put on the thing that tag is displayed for all to see, at night when there is a chance someone might miss it, theres a light there to illuminate it. Noone on the internet can do anything with your tag number GET OVER IT

sadly, this thing will eventually be jacked up, 30" rims added, dual exhaust added, painted in the back yard to look like a m&ms wrapper, and do it yourself 5% tint.

yea it's fun sometimes. Mostly just annoying. Coming home from work just now, there was this mexican in front of me going 25 in a 45 because I look like la policia.

gas mileage is what you'd expect. Don't try getting above 20 in the city, but you might get 25 on the highway with a tailwind. It's got the 3.55 rear axle (no LSD) and a lightweight (but strong) aluminum driveshaft.

It's a comfortable highway car. The nearest comparison I can make is like driving your living room. You're sitting in the recliner, and the people in the back have the couch.

and I won't sell it to anyone who would turn it into a clown car or a donk or anything like this:

I almost wish I had a reason to buy this--great color for the PI's. I also like that you have the steelies w/center caps rather than the hubcaps, it's a good look. CV's are great cars, there have been two in my family and I have a Marauder, so I'm a big fan of the Panther Fords.

Does the PI come standard with 3.55 gears or did you upgrade?

Evidently the OASIS report isn't showing that the engine got replaced. It showed up when I got the report in 2007, so I don't really know what happened there.

I might stop by advanced and get one of those cheap recharge kits. do they make those that come with UV-flourescent dye mixed in? I can't fix it if I don't know what the problem is (refrig leak, evaporator, ????, etc)

I'd like to sell it fairly soon. Right now it's just sitting and collecting pollen. But if you're genuinely interested I may be able to hang on to it for a little while longer...

I also think that you can find dye kits at any car store. AC is a big deal for me and I know how expensive it can be to fix..
