In the process of planning summer vacation. Im gonna be in Cuernavaca doing a study abroad this summer, and I want to spend a week vacationing after that. I cant decide on Puerto Vallarta or Cozumel. I actually just went to cozumel for a day on a cruise and it was amazing. I love the beach and snorkeling.
This is what I have heard so far by searching the web: Cozumel: built by mexico to be a touristic place, better beaches (Caribbean ocean), party town Puerto Vallarta: More authentic mexican, more restaurants, things to do
Any opinions? Thanks guys! 3/22/2010 3:42:56 PM |

^ Puerto Vallarta because more than likely at some point in your life, you'll probably have another chance to go to Cozumel (via cruise or something). 3/22/2010 4:19:33 PM |

I've never been to Puerto Vallarta, but I thought Cozumel was way too touristy. On a related note, I did study abroad in Cuernavaca several years ago and it was fucking awesome. 3/22/2010 7:24:18 PM |

i did an all-inclusive last year during memorial day when the swine flu craziness was going on for dirt cheap - i heard the town wasn't anything worth going to - we just stayed at the resort on the beach and at the swim up bar for a few days 3/22/2010 7:49:41 PM |

I was there a month living with a Mexican family and a few friends. We went to the pyramids one weekend, Acapulco another weekend, and the silver mines. We'd also go out to the bar several nights a week and interact with the locals. I'd frequently go to the park, play chess, look at the shops, etc. We also went to a carnival one night. The weather was great in June; high/low around 70 all the time. 3/23/2010 10:25:35 AM |
