A regular ACOG or M68 will do, but I shoot better with a regular sight aperture and iron sights. You don't need a sniper scope on an M4 rifle, especially if it's area point target is only effective up to 800 yards. M16 will shoot far better at longer ranges, that would make sense with a scope.

The M4 rifle is built for closer combat. Further than 800 yards, expect it to "knuckleball."

That particular rifle is not an M4. It is Knights Armament M110 SASS rifle that fires 7.62x51, based on the AR10. Notice the larger magazine. With even an average marksman with that app and scope I would be very afraid at 1,000 yards.

Knights Armament makes the app that appears in the picture, which is set up only for their rifles. There is another ballistics app out there that I use, Ballistic FTE that works very well for pretty much anything.

if the tww app is anything like the bb&t, BofA, or travelocity apps it's just a link to the website. so you can easily create your own app by going to brentroad.com on your iphone and then adding to home screen

He, nor you, know what you're talking about. I know an M4 when I see one. Change the paint and a few accessories and all of a sudden it's a different rifle right? Wrong... That's an M4 dude I don't care what expert you come up with. The Magazine is a standard issue in the military. There are variations of the M4 and M16 such as the AR15. This one does not have a Burst function, so it's a civilian version, but the chambering is the same inside, with a standard barrel it looks like and an adjustable buttstock.

Fire one of those and compare it to the M4. Big difference? no, except whatever the hell you think it is and whether it needs a scope or not with a little tech gadget added to it won't make a difference in the trajectory of the bullet. If anything, that gadget on there will make the rifle harder to balance when firing over a long period of time. The scope is not necessary.

It's like trying to use a magnifying glass for reading when your vision is 20/20. It's just not necessary.

I'm not disagreeing with the fact that you don't need a high magnification scope on an m4. But that is a Knights Armament rifle that is chambered in 7.62x51. Only their 7.62x51 rifles have the billet uppers, their 5.56 uppers have the standard shape you see on the milspec stuff. Also, the mag on the rifle in that picture has a extra rib that you don't see on the M-16/AR-15 20 rd mags. If I had one of those rifles, that little gadget would be nifty at the range, especially when switching between different loads. Would I have it on that exact rifle when going into a fight? No, but I would have it in my pocket to get an idea of how different weather conditions would change the ballistics that particular day since little changes make a big difference at 1k yds.

Count the ribs, that is a rifle with an AR-10 mag in it, hence it shoots the much more powerful 7.62x51 round that many of our military snipers use.

The webkit browsers on the mephone and android devices make it a breeze. I could see a failberry app since the default browser sucks balls. It'd be nice to get pm notifications and maybe subscribing to thread updates though.
