To me it seems like a waste of money to buy old movies (like from the 80's) in Blu-Ray.

^ you clearly haven't seen one that's been properly remastered. they can easily get 1080p+ out of film. check out top gun , labyrinth , or 2001 (just to name a few) they all look incredible in hd.

where do you live? I'm interested in several of these, but realistically, there's only so much effort i'd go through to actually pick these up. FWIW, i work in RTP and live near southpoint mall.
