I have a job offer in Estes Park.

Seasonal, to be sure, and that's perfectly fine for now

Naturally. I keep bugging Matt to get these to you, FYI. He'll be in NC til we move permanently.

I'm telling them I can start May 10th.

...We're on vacation out there from 4/16 til 4/25

As long as I am interacting with the public, I don't care too much what my job is.

I am soooooooo excited

A month has never been moving so quickly WAY too much to do before I leave.

And now I'm thinking "I'm gonna miss this..." all the time.

I leave 5/30. Driving cross-country alone was fantastic in my husband's new, shiny car; I'm looking forward to doing it in my car (it's a stick).

I'm looking forward to driving out there; I might get to bring my cat; I'm really beginning to get a little nervous about leaving. Some of this is the "I might never live in this house again". "I may never visit that again." "We never did go visit that."

Any other TWWers out in CO/WY?

Eating them

Selling the house, and bringing the animals with - when this is permanent.

For now, I'm just moving out there on a seasonal gig.

Whenever my parents talk about their time in Colorado, it's just them bitching about all the "gun-toting rednecks" that live there. When I ask them how that's different from NC they reply, "The ones here are friendly."

not quite, i'm in ID tho but i <3 estes park and CO in general... good luck with the move!

that's how i felt when i was moving, but someone reminded me that most of the things i'd miss would likely be there whenever i came back. rather feel that way than the "what if i didn't move and try something new?" type of regret

^That is exactly it. And I've already got the whole "living in the moment" thing down pretty well, so I won't have regrets about my Lasts here.

I'm actually sitting here at my job, and it's just finally sunk in that this is my last shift here (We have an agreement where I'll do like an hour of work in August so I'm not purged from payroll, so that if I do come back in the fall, it's just a matter of me jumping into the schedule, and nothing else...but that's a contingency plan.)

I'm crying. I LOVE my job, and my bosses are all so fantastic. Every year, towards the end of that year's long vacation, I dream about work.

^I will definitely hit you up if/when I/we go to ID. I really want to

Soooo...I know why rent is only $180/mo

My cabin (actually, portion thereof. At least for the structure I'm in, it's two private rooms in an L shape, with a covered storage area filling out the rectangle) is ~7x10 (+/- 2ft). Electricity, yes; running water, no. I do have wireless high speed, with good signal, and a minifridge and microwave It looks like I have cable TV, but meh.

Every single item in here looks like it was salvaged/scrounged from a trash/donation pile somewhere. Including the carpet To their credit, it's all clean and in good shape. I think I've found every nail in the walls and put them to use. There is no AC (and I can't even imagine needing it: not only is it pretty damn cool, ITS DRY), but also no heat. And two broken window panes.

I have lived in worse places, and I want to be here, so I'm pretty pleased with it. I just wish I'd brought hangers.

There are stables on site, and there are LOTS of cowgirls (as my boss referred to them). And they are DAMN good looking. And they wear tight jeans. And their bathroom (separate from the other female bathrooms, owing to the nature of their duties) is immediately in front of my cabin entrance. Approved.

I'm right up the hill from a sizeable stream, and near where it joins the river.

I was told to be careful when I leave my cabin at night, just in case a bear has wandered down into the residential area of the property

I might post pictures once everything is put away.

Things I brought with on impulse, and am glad to have :
- a fleece blanket
- a crappy blanket of the sort you'd keep in your car for winter (which is exactly why I brought it lol)
- a doormat type rug
- a camp chair
- two coolers, instead of one
- my calendar
- some movies to watch
- my french press and coffee

If anyone comes to/through CO/Estes Park this summer, PM me

I should meet most of my coworkers tomorrow. I was the last to arrive (On 5/5, she emails me asking if I can be there 5/8. This, after she'd finally said I could start in early June. My boss is REALLY scatterbrained.)

It got down to 55 last night - inside I want like 20 blankets. Some for bed, and some for insulation
