i love this weight class. i hated the heavyweights b/c they get gassed out so fast and just lay around on the floor. it didn't seem like any of the fights last night were boring, and there seems to be a lot more talent this year than last.
that dude's nose was fubar! and the other fight w/ the cut was one of the bloodiest ones i've seen. 4/1/2010 11:34:41 AM |

I hope that dude with the fro is legit
but even if he is not a complete fighter, he knows how to fuckin throw kicks
never seen anyone throw successive kicks with such power, love the way he did the super saiyan pose as he knocked the guy out
and that was a partially blocked one, good god he went mid, low and high with the kicks
sorry but i love kicks
other than that not impressed with what ive seen, but i like to see the whole fight not little snippets where time elapses
i never pay attention to TUFs until the 16 real fighters make it in the house, dont need to know the scrubs that lose
o yea that school teacher that got KOd, that was very cleeeean 4/1/2010 3:32:52 PM |

Looks like a good season. UFC needs more competition at LHW, it's probably the weakest division in the UFC. MW is already stacked, but it's entertaining to watch MW fighters because it's probably where we'll see the most KO's. 4/1/2010 3:42:49 PM |

^what?!
LHW is probably the deepest, most star-ridden division in the UFC by a longshot. The only division that even comes close is LW. Hell, some of the biggest middleweight names are just guys that couldnt hack it at LHW and dropped down. 4/1/2010 3:55:46 PM |

Umm... there are only a few guys on the LHW list that really catches my attention. Other than those few, everyone else on the list is good as done and will never be title contenders.
Evans <-- Mediocre Machida <-- Good Rampage <-- Old news Griffin <-- Very old news Franklin <-- Pfft... Jardine <-- LOL Liddell <-- Washed up Shogun <-- GOOD Vera <-- Done for, especially after his most recent fight Thiago Silva <-- Over hyped, last fight was a joke Jones <-- Decent guy with lots of promise, but still young Bonnar <-- Same category as Forrest Bader <-- Some potential, but nothing exciting Hamill <-- Big heart, little talent Houston Alexander <-- Lost to a street fighter ... LOL
I'm not even going to go into LW category. Penn has dominated everyone and there is no one left to challenge the belt. Only predictable and boring fights left in that division. 4/1/2010 4:07:18 PM |

Rashad Evans is mediocre!?!?! GTFO!! 4/1/2010 4:11:29 PM |

^no kidding..
^^I don't even know where to start with your post. To start with, how are you gonna in one breath say that MW is stacked (even though Silva has cleaned house so many times, he has had to fight at LHW to get some comp) and in the other say that LW is weak because BJ has beaten everyone?
I'm not even gonna address your individual fighter evaluations because frankly, it's pretty subjective, but I could make a similar list and evaluation for every weight division in the UFC.
Bottom line is that MW has virtually no stars left in the UFC because Silva has owned the hell out of everyone. 4/1/2010 4:38:49 PM |

Did they take away alcohol from the fighters this season? I just realized I haven't seen any drunken shenanigans yet. 5/5/2010 11:08:27 PM |

i just think these guys are just not drinkers
i actually like this season a lot
And nick ring is a beast i like the way he fights, im about to hear the decision now (DVR)
nick ring majority decision, great fight first fight where the guys were in good shape fightin hard
much respect to court mcgee, he was clearly outclassed but he kept fightin and made it close, i have nothin but respect for that
i think chuck is overreacting a bit, i dont think it was a robbery i thought ring was effective throughout the fight
DAMN the injuries this season are insane
and LOL at the bitch that says rashad evans is mediocre
motherfucker is amazing i dont give a damn that dude is my idol and my favorite fighter, i dont care if he loses or how borin people try to say he is
hes gonna smack rampage around watch, AND he will be fightin for a title again
get outta here with that Rashad is number the LHW in the worlld, no question
MAchida Shogun EVANS Rampage Forrest Griffin King Mo Lil Nogueira Gegard Mousasi Jon Jones Babalu Sobral

sorry but i cant let rashad get dissed like that
you are actually disrespecting alot of fighters
if none of these guys are good as far as youre concerned, then what the holy fuck are you meriting the "good fighters" with??
they have all fought eachother and common opponents?? if youre discrediting the opposition like you are than hell, no one on the list is good because
hell shogun had probably the shittiest road to the title shot and the most "pedestrian" string of fights based on your post
i mean choked to death by old news forrest, had the worst professional fight I have ever seen (outside of Joey Beltran v. Rolles Gracie)against old and out of shape mark coleman, beat "washed up" chuck, and LOST, yes LOST to the only good competition on your list, Machida
and hell before all that the only relevant thing he had done in a good while was beat a sickly drug abusing kevin randleman by knee bar
what does it all mean??

Nick Ring sounds like he should be on HGTV instead of Spike. In terms of fighting style, I liked crabman better but we'll see. 5/6/2010 6:35:52 AM |

A lot of people assume Nick Ring is actually homosexual
personally, i think he is also but hes a damn good fighter and i look forward to seein the dude in the UFC so i dont care about his orientation
he might just be putting on a very good front
also LOL at xvang, apparently he missed Frankie Edgar winning the belt from BJ Penn (even though IMO that was a huge robbery)
nonetheless BJ lost the title

Nick just comes across to me as kind of nerdy and socially awkward. And I can see where he's a solid, technical fighter, but he seemed pretty tentative at a lot of points during his fight with Court, like he's missing that 190% killer instinct. 5/6/2010 3:26:41 PM |
BigHitSunday Dick Danger 51059 Posts user info edit post |
court was throwin alot of bombs and i feel like nick just was used to more of a consistent pace of fight, in other words hes more of the kinda guy that does best when he can establish a rhythm. Like i think hed do better against a guy like Yager, who isnt always attacking attacking attacking but is a patient striker as well...its hard when i guy just comes and comes at you throwing alot of combos AND has the ability to go for takedowns
plus the first takedown probably made him a little more conservative
but nick was KILLING court in the clinch, so much so that i was disappointed mcgee kept winding up there in the second, thats the reason he lost that round and it didnt go to a third, the clinch fighting nick was killing him and vastly outlanding him
and court really had no reason to be there to get caught in the clinch

Yeah, when they were just striking, Court definitely was landing some good shots; it seemed like Nick was covering up so tight he couldn't see the shots coming in very well, and Court kept sneaking a lot of good uppercuts right up the middle, especially in the second round. I agree, if he had stayed back and kept throwing those bombs, Court would have had a lot more convincing case for sending it to a third round. 5/6/2010 4:21:58 PM |

Prolly saw more skill out of joe henle than I have seen so far during this season of TUF
its a shame he gassed out but i agree with the round scoring and the decision
I cant believe gave MCCRAY a chance to get back in the competition, he was the most amateurish looking cat that has fought thus far uscola is going to KILL him
jesus they should have given the chance to hammertree or REALLY should have given it to court mcgee
looks like nick is going to be out, man that knee shit was nasty man, no way they let him fight on like that but apparently he is willing to shorten his career and quality of life just to get into the UFC, its not worth it its not like the door is gonna close forever
