If a mole is worrisome enough to be removed, I wouldn't be caring about scarring.

Especially on one's scalp. (Unless one is kelodial )

eh, it's not worrisome, but I shave my head and it's annoying. Might as well do it if it's free.

It all depends on the size of the mole and the skill of your doctor. I had two removed, although not on my scalp, and there is a minor scar from each. The scar was pink for about two years, but it has since turned white and isn't something that would jump out at you. For the first two years it looked kind of like I got stabbed with a philips head screwdriver. Think the kind of scar that you'd have if you removed a plug the size and shape of a pencil eraser and then closed it with two stitches. I'd recommend it if the mole looks gross or is worthy of biopsy.

How much does it cost to remove a mole and how long do you have to wear a bandage

It was just an insurance co-pay for me ($20). The doc sent them in for biopsy even though he already told me it was nothing to worry about. That might have been to ensure that it was medically necessary instead of cosmetic for insurance purposes.

Healing was just a matter of keeping a bandaid on it for a few days and pulling out the stitches with my leatherman tool about 6 weeks later if I remember correctly.

i've had 2 taken off my scalp for the same reason, bbehe. wearing a bandaid for a couple of days was the extent of it for me. no stitches. it will just be pink skin for a while, but after a year or two it will fade to nothing.

yeah it's sent in for a biopsy to cover the insurance cost, otherwise it's classified as cosmetic.

go for it imo.

i had one removed off my forehead... wore the bandaid for a day, rest of the time it looked like a spider smooshed on my head cuz of the stitches. i have freckles so i can barely tell where the scar is, but there is a slight indentation where it was.

I had an obvious brown mole that was bigger than a pencil eraser at my temple. Got that shit removed and have no stitches for it either. A couple of doctors before had said it would leave a bad scar, but the chick that did it said that would be no problem. There used to be a slight indentation and a little pink to it, but now it just looks like the rest of my skin. No big deal.
