I drink Cheerwine with Rich & Rare sometimes. Any Canadian Whiskey would probably do just fine, but when you are mixing booze with something that has such a strong flavor I prefer the cheap stuff.

Cheerwine is, in and of itself, filthy.

It's equivalent to drinking a nice clean cup of all natural sulfuric acid.


Mixing alcohol with it just makes it dirtied up sulfuric acid.

I'm from Salisbury, where it was invented, and back home the local bars serve "Cheerwine Shots" that are similiar to this recipe. There is no actual cheerwine in the shot, but it tastes exactly like the drink.

On I side note, I worked on a job renovating their bottling plant when I was in high school. We had to re-pour the floors because there were holes eaten through the concrete where the syrup would drip
