http://hd.engadget.com/2008/10/02/vudu-goes-live-with-1080p-hdx-rentals-doesnt-charge-extra-for/how does one go about getting this? Their site wasn't very helpful and it seems like you have to buy a Vudu ready tv. This and PS are the only two digital download services that will have Avatar available in HD...everyone else gets SD.

They used to sell standalone boxes: http://www.amazon.com/VUDU-Set-Top-Movies-Demand/dp/B000VEMJFYIf you get a box, this HD service is built in. Otherwise you'll need a newer HDTV with access to VUDU integrated. The standalone box never was a hit so they ditched hardware and are now basically a software/middleware and streaming service.
