I actually forgot about this until last night

I ordered her two books I thought she'd enjoy and a pound of coffee from Amazon. It'll get there late but I said Happy Mother's Day to her today and told her to expect the package.

I bought her a nice bundle of flowers, I came to visit, I gave her lots of hugs, and I'm providing her as much support as I can even though family drama is once again overshadowing this family experience.

I'm kinda broke so I got her a card with a heartfelt note written in it, and my sister and I bought her "Its Complicated" on DVD.
+1 for the college diploma

Also, if you're actually going to go visit your mom, just stop by a legit florist and buy some flowers. I'm amazed by the quality and selection of flowers I got for very little money compared to what you'd be able to get from the interwebs (not counting delivery charges I mean). Your moms probably have a billion vases from past events anyway!

despite my mom being a complete and total bitch, i:

1) drove down to wilmington this weekend to see her instead of doing hood rat stuff with my friends
2) made her an epic breakfast this morning
3) contributed to this really expensive ring my sisters and i got her

now i'm trying to figure out how i can leave without looking like a dick

^ um. YUM!!! let me be yo momma.

ugh i was hoping i'd have my LLS donation webpage set up by today but i don't have my login to set it up yet. i REALLY wanted to set it up today so i could EXTRA guilt people to donating (yes, i'm evil - but its for a great cause). but oh well, whenever i get it set up i'm still going to reference mother's day since it will probably be this week sometime.

GO MOM!!!!!

on a kind of unrelated note i wish if people were going to give me like pens and lawyer-y shit for graduation, they'd just donate to LLS instead. BUT if they're gonna send me a check, i'm kinda poor so i'd like some of those still. again, i'm evil. oh well i have the face of an

Mom loves cooking and its so hard to buy her anything (she has everything and never says what she wants) so I just raided Williams Sonoma for their bourbon syrup, pina colada and sangria drink mixers, and some good looking chocolate chip pancake and waffle mix. Figure its better to get her treats that she normally won't or can't get herself.

I went by Whole Foods and got her flowers, tea, and Saki, then went to Sushi Thai and picked up dinner. Took it all out to the house and had an evening with the parents. I think she was pleased.

I also got her some body wash that has our last name in the product name. Just somethin' fun.

I gave her a card and took her out to lunch yesterday

I want to give her a chiminea...they just had their back deck expanded and a patio put in. I think she'd enjoy it. That might be a good combo mother's/father's day gift.

This is what I do with my mom when I go the food route too. She has every gadget known to man so it's just better to get her high quality ingredients to use in her gadgets.

My sister and I made her these two huge scrapbooks (i.e., my sister scrapbooked and I bought the books ) because all her pictures were disorganized in this massive box that was just not holding everything. The rest of the pictures we went through and put some into a regular photo album then put the rest (all neatly organized and protected) in two cute picture boxes.

Then I made her a bangin chocolate pie I think she enjoyed it

I bought a silver chain for dad to give her, for a 18k pendant (you shouldn't mix the metals, but we cheaped out b/c we decided she wouldn't know the difference or care )

Gift certificate to Sunglass Hut because she lost her sunglasses.

And I surprised her by driving up for the day and helping/making my girlfriend cook her a bad ass dinner. Oh...and we went out and watched Iron Man before that.

brother and i made her bbq ribs and chicken on sunday for dinner with homemade chocolate swirl cheesecake for dessert. we actually made 2 cheesecakes because we had a bunch of other family over as well. which is a good thing because i managed to drop one of the cheesecakes on my head...no joke.
at least it made her laugh until she cried when she saw it.

and i got her some ferns to replace some that have started looking really crappy.

in addition we bought her lunch on sunday.

guess im a bit of a mama's boy.
