I don't mind her voice, but she's painfully liberal about nearly everything.

Still.... I listen -- it's the best news source around.

She is painful to listen to. Her point has been made. NPR's point has been made. GG on the perseverance, but it really would be nice if she bowed out gracefully. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Really? Have you even listened? Hosts phrase questions as though all listeners are [also] coming from a liberal stance. Things like, "Is that even legal?" when talking about something liberals want to ban -- an informed host should already know whether it's illegal. It's not an innocent question, but instead, a liberal editorial disguised as a question.

I knew some idiot would post that. I considered rephrasing, but decided I'd rather let whichever idiot that can't determine context speak up first. A news source is something that contains at least some news. News is nothing but news. Something that is "not news" is something that is not "nothing but news", or in other words, something that may have some news, but isn't all news. Therefore, there is no contradiction in what I said -- a particular source of news isn't necessarily, in and of itself, entirely news.

Furthermore, not only did you not recognize simple context, but you didn't even notice the nouns. In one statement, the noun is "news". In the other statement, the noun is "source". Keep tryin'.

I am aware of this and I sympathize with her condition, but one of a radio personality's biggest assets is his or her voice. She never would have been hired into the industry with a voice like that. So, point proven...She has persevered and NPR did the noble thing by not letting her go. Kudos to both, but I'd still rather hear a new voice when I turn on the radio.

While I agree that a lot of their commentary shows run to the left, I don't think you can claim their straight up news is biased.

Hell, I just listened to a podcast from SciFri where they blasted the administration for not opening up the oil spill containment to the general engineering community.
