We have a GE Standard stove from 30 years ago and will have to special order it; however, there is one in stock in Knoxville, TN. We are trying to get it ASAP.

My husband and I are willing to pay $200 to whomever can get that stove to us. We will make sure it is paid for and have your name on the release.

The exact address is:

Sears Store # 2156
198 Foothills Mall
Maryville, TN 37801-2310

It is under 6 hours from our house according to Google Maps.

375 miles from NC State campus.

right now you are at 26 cent a mile.

that is ridiculous low, especially for a truck.

I wouldnt do it for anything less than 50 cent a mile.

you have to count in fuel cost as well

even at 20 mpg thats still 37.5 gallons to get there. at $2.80 average thats $105 JUST FOR GAS ALONE

so realistically you are paying them $100. which in turn makes it 13 cent per mile.

that is ridiculous.

good luck!

I was willing to negotiate.

Gas is $2.59 (this is at the Sheetz by my house) and the minivan I used to drive got around 24-26 on the interstate. That ballparks it at around $70 dollars for fuel and more than $10 an hour to drive.

When you get paid for work for driving your car the mileage includes gas. You do not get a mileage check and the reimbursement for gas.

$0.34 is (was) the standard wear and tear cost per mile...just for car usage. That didn't include pay on top of it.

750 times .34 = 255+ $10 per hour is $375...which seems fair?

am I wrong?

^34 cents may have been the standard awhile ago...its 50 cents per mile these days...

basically, the offer is around $100 for 12 hours of someone's time and 750 miles on their vehicle...someone might be hard up for cash and interested. could be an acceptable arrangement for the right person...good luck!

We will be going camping and passing through knoxville over memorial day weekend. The problem is the car gets 30mpg and the truck gets shit for mileage and takes diesel (more expensive). The store would also have to be open on memorial day.

Good luck! If I weren't going out of town this week, I would consider doing it for you.

.55/mile was last years tax allowance.

so...

393 miles each way for me

800 miles rings up to ~$450. Which is not only a fair price, but a price I would do it for.

agreed.

and it doesnt matter what the sheetz by your house sells it for...it matters what the average price for the trip is.

It also doesnt matter what your van gets for mileage...it depends on teh vehicle used which would be more than likely a truck.

the added weight of the stove will decrease the mileage considerably.

who loads it to the truck and off the truck ?

and what happens if the truck is damaged in the process of loading and unloading ?

will you cover those costs ?

too many liabilities here.

The biggest liability is that you get there and can't pick up the stove for some reason, then don't get paid. Only way I'd do it is getting paid up front.

Since a lot of people keep PMing me, the stove dimensions are 27 by 28 by 24 inches. It is a drop in.

GE is the only person that makes a replacement and there is currently a 30 year old GE in that spot. I have talked to appliance people in 4 stores. The standard drop ins now are 30in. Since we just redid the cabinets, I didn't want to ninja them into a million pieces.

I bought a return at Seats in TN for $241. There is nothing wrong with the stove I bought; however, they have been unable to sell it.

It sells for $1088 new at pretty much any place you special order it. The oven should be here by Thursday and we can be measured for our granite.

Wait.

You are currently remodeling, but didn't have the foresight to think about maybe changing things up to fit a more standard sized stove?

no, no one will do it for $200
the dimensions have nothing to do with hauling it lol.

it'll fit in a truck no problem.

only way I can see someone doing this is if they are in Raleigh and HAVE to go to TN for other business.

i'll do it for $450

We are preparing a house to be sold in Cary. When we saw the drop in, we were told it was a standard size which wouldn't mess up the cabinets the contractors were redoing. So they day they were redoing them, I went to price out the stove, granite, and some other stuff. It is much harder being a master contractor when you and your husband work a combined 140 hours a week. With being pregnant, I just can't do as much or be around as much as I would like.

Since we are on a very tight schedule and cannot afford for the house to sit empty, we have been just getting as much done as fast as we can. I learned my lesson about taking it at face value. We were considering letting the 30 year old stove stay when we sell it, but $241 is a great deal for a brand new stove.

We should hopefully get top dollar for the house as we repainted the whole house, new landscaping, redid cabinets, new appliances, granite, and hardwood in the main areas.

Someone who lives near the mall will go to Sears and do the necessary things so that it can be shipped FedEx. FedEx is charging me $68 dollars for shipping. They are charging me $50 for their time. I would say this thread was super successful for me.

actually in this case it matters...since it's a good deal smaller than a standard stove it'll fit in a smaller vehicle.

^ so someone who lives near this mall in TN is on TWW, and PM'd you with this idea?

The oven weighs 110 pounds.

The answer is yes someone on here lives in Knoxville and is going to go to Sears and get the paperwork I fax to them together and make sure it gets to FedEx. I am paying the rate they asked. I see absolutely nothing wrong with the situation. I did have a few other offers in the sub $300 category to drive there and back. One was $280 and one for $295.

If for some reason your contact in Knoxville falls through, I may be able to line another one up to do this for you. (Organize the shipping arrangements that is)
