wife hit a pothole yesterday...

i'm doubting that this can be straightened, but thought i'd get other opinions

if it can be, and is cheaper than a new wheel, where would be the best place to take it?

07 Accord, if it matters

no problem dude. good luck. i had to explain to my wife the importance of dodging potholes when it's safe to do so.

What do they usually charge? The lack of prices on their webpage indicates I can't afford it.

how much is a junkyard rim?

[Edited on June 1, 2010 at 12:50 PM. Reason : $25 to spin a tire off and back on when you're already spending $125 with them is jewish]

Yeah, I've fixed them with a big fucking hammer before, I'll do so again.

Yeah, good luck with the BFH route. Aluminum, especially cast, has a nice nasty habit of cracking if you're not careful. I know this from experience.

I've had a wheel fixed that was dented more severely than that. It was forged, though, and it was a really damned expensive wheel (like $1000+), so that made it cost-effective to repair rather than replace.

if it's just a fucking accord rim, go to the junkyard

straightening will cost you $125 min, with no tire on it

just toss that shit in the garbage, honda rims are a dime a dozen

The Price family (Price's Auto Parts) were my neighbors when I was younger...they're good people, and I've had some success getting parts there. Other than that, I have no preference.

1. Bring a jack
2. Go to LKQ
3. Pay $2
4. Find an accord

done, son

Nah, my rim is chromed steel. I won't run anything but steelies on my cars any more.

[Edited on June 1, 2010 at 4:50 PM. Reason : LKQ doesn't allow jacks. They also usually pull the rims off and sell them to resellers.]

We got 5-10 BMW wheels worse than that fixed, daily. We used Rimguard.....they are great.

thanks everbody... i'm actually driving to Wendell today to get a used one from Martin's... he said he has a set of 4 at $150 each (and only one has any scratches)... i'm okay with that though since i was going to pay that to get this one straightened and it actually had some curb rash on it that i was going to get Rimguard to quote me on fixing while it was off the car anyways... looks like i'll have an extra, bent rim lying around for a rainy day
