van gogh style. well not really...he seemed a little crazy. but i'm going to cut off my ear. i have this itch. its INNNNNNNNNNNNNN my ear - wayyyy in there. i either want to shove something really sharp and pointy in my ear or stick my finger all the way in the back of my throat to scratch the itch. and there is pressure like ear infection pressure. so uncomfortable right now. and so awake when i was totally asleep. ughhhh.

and p.s. do not google image search "cutting off ear." its not pleasant.

I've had that inner ear itch feeling before too. Just went away after some hours. If you keep getting the sense of building pressure you should probably see a doctor.

and this one where worms got into a womans head or something. mine ear stuffy like it did this one time i was sick. like a stuffy nose but in my ear/throat. that makes no sense. but that is what it feels like. like when your nose is filled with snot and your rub it and then the snot shifts around and kinda tickles your nose so you sneeze. that is how my ear feels except ears don't sneeze soooooo it feels like it needs to pop or something so i'm trying to swallow a lot and make it pop.

^ EW MOTHS? THAT IS SO FREAKING GROSS. i never see bugs in my house but i guess you never know.

Apparently it's quite common for worms, moths, cockroaches, ect, to crawl into people's ears. Think about it, we sleep in a house full of them, even though we don't see them during the day. But most of the time it just dies in your ear and your body absorbs the insect.

last time this happened (when i had the flu/pneumonia) it sucked even worse and i could NOT get any relief. its just really annoying. it hurts but its mostly just annoying.

try the squirt bottle version of the neti pot, its awesome for sinus and ear stuff. try massaging the path of the eustachian tube for 10-20 minutes and holding a warm compress on it, that will help it to open and drain eventually. chewing gum stretches the eustachian tube and helps equalize the pressure.

Antibiotics are not effective for fluid in the ears, don't give your bod the chance to start a colony of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. mostly it just takes time for the swelling of the eustachian to subside so the ear can drain. it can take up to 6-8 weeks if you have a lot of fluid. stay away from cigarette smoke and any allergens that affect you in the meantime.
