They were about an inch and a half long each... (for you D&D types, compare them to D-30s. o.O) unfortunately, now my toes're swollen enough I still can't really stand. Company and condolences are welcome.

This thread actually applies to me. I cut my toenails out for ingrown toenails somewhat regularly.

when I was younger, I got a lot of ingrown toenails.

I had a surgery of sorts done - they removed a slice of toenail on either side and cauterized the nail bed to make the nails more narrow.

So, I guess you could say I got my toenails out.

Exact same thing happened to me. I am missing a little bit of toe nail on both of my big toes

I think I need to have that done, I get ingrown toenails a lot, but I typically just pull/cut the whole nail out and let it regrow.

I lost a pinky toenail from running a few weeks back. The nailbed turned black, and then a few weeks later the toenail just peeled back and fell off without pain.
