i can't even work at those places because i'm overqualified. true story.

ok well i haven't tried those exact three. but i tried for some admin jobs and nonprofit jobs and they said i was overqualified

and my friend tried for lowe's (the food place) and they said she was overqualified.

i mean i guess they're right i can't make a long term commitment cause if something better comes along i'm jumping at that. but i feel like i probably have a good 4-6 months with which to file shit for < $10/hour. and i'm amazing at filing. i got my alphabet down.

Mountaire Farms has a few more management trainee positions for recent grads

Not the kinda salary you computer and engineering folks would want, but damn good for those of us in the agricultural field

^^^^^^Ain't that the truth. I've applied to tons of places that hated the fact that I have a degree.

If I didn't have a conditional offer right now I would be going more crazy than I am.

i dislike this thread

well first i changed my major like 87 times but then i ended up w/ poli sci and philosophy

oh and then for some reason i had the bright idea to go to grad school

so now i also have a J.D.

i'm thinking of just collecting degrees. i mean maybe if i get like 3 to 4 more we can start a club and trade around. like trading cards.

Aerospace Engineering

please don't let this turn into a thread where people share their "knowledge" on what grads should be doing if they don't currently have a job.

because if you really think you know how people can find work, you don't know jack.

^^ this is true. i concentrated in business law.

international.

i wish i had gotten an MBA with my JD (even if it isn't necessary). i'd rather not go back to school for it. plus MBA programs want you to work first (usually) before attending and i didn't do undergrad in business so how would i get a business-y job? i don't know how to get any job. because all of my efforts have resulted in nothing. ok like 3 interviews for 100 jobs applied for

i just want to work at RTI. i apply to jobs there like everyday but none of them 100% fit my qualifications. i try to force myself in to the mold haha.

if you want to work at RTI.. do you know anyone there? step one is make friends with someone there. applying online for jobs only works once in a blue moon and always for someone else. network and make personal connections. that will get you the interview, your personality & professionalism will get you the job.

yea. i know 2 people so far no luck with the jerbs. i haven't applied for anything legal just policy positions which is more what i want to do. why did i get this stupid unnecessary degree ahhhh. i might hate myself for the rest of my life

but i totally understand the networking thing. it just seems like it isn't workinggggg (whiney voice!). but i know a lot of people are in the same boat so i don't feel too bad about myself. YET. haha. and truthfully for the last month-ish i haven't really been focused as much on jobs. more on studying. so that i don't fuck up all chances of getting a job

dont give up!! my bf has been trying to break into the oil & gas industry for 3 years and just recently started getting call backs for interviews..all because of networking. he has been working in a different industry in the meantime & it can be really hard to switch industries.

keep it up and it'll pay off! just keep building those relationships

he does do appearances twice a year in my building for meet and greets

and there's a huge eye sore of a busted up hood from a dover race a few years ago on the wall about 20 feet from my office door

the nerds love that shit

i dont, because when they park the trailers and bring the cars out and shit in my parking lot i have to walk farther.

^^^^,^^^^^Business management would also be acceptable, but I'm guessing if you had no experience in agriculture, or any other career in which you got your hands dirty, you wouldn't be appreciative of the working conditions
