ok well my goal is to be helpful...this may sting or not depending how much work went into them.
on WYWH : the levels are off, the vocals are too dry, and uneq'd or compressed to any standard.
the first guitar needs to be louder from the get go, and when you eq it, give it an arc with the mids prominent, bass rolled off, and not too much fine treble, the boost the gain of the eq 1-2db to give the guitar a little bit more oomph, but not too much.compress the vocals, and try running a light delay with the feedback at maybe 5% - delay effects have this neat way of affecting a vocal track, especially when the delay's repeats can't be heard but ever so slightly, it give the voice headroom.
never add chorus, btw. it detunes the sound to get the effect, and you don't want that in your recordings - leave that to nirvana. things you have going for you are a good overall meter to the songs, good equipment i'm guessing due to the good sync ups on teh overdubs, and the lack of noise from the mics...sounds like you also have the patience required to get better at mixing and mastering you music after you record it. always make sure it's got some kind of track compression, as it ties everything together without using reverb, and assures everything gets heard without sacrificing something else...also, be sure ot normalize your track to -.1db so it doesn't peak in your listener's player of choice. you should be mixing your tracks through the nicest stereo you can find, with good range of freq. response so you know what it really sounds like - after you finish you master tracks, you'll also want to prepare an internet ready version of you song that may require additional eq'ing to accommodate OEM car / laptop / ipod headphones.

there's no reason to curse - i was not telling him to add a ping pong delay that echoes 5 times before fading out, i'm saying use it as a fliter in an audio mixing / mastering program with little to no feedback, and a fast decay - acting as a --DRUMROLL PREASE-- a poor man's doubler without all the hassle of wobbling up your voice to sound like the beatles.

cubase or the cheap version of protools will handle almost everything mentioned thus far.

i understand your point, but it's never too early to learn the basic stuff

i doubled vocals on the first EP i made on a tascam 414 when i was fifteen years old, but that was only because someone told me that they sound much fuller if you do them twice

parsonsb, all the advice xsmp has given you is good, and given your choice of material, the aesthetic decisions he suggests might serve you better than the ones i offer

just trying to give you different points on the spectrum here

better bet on PC is cool edit pro 2 - free and awesome - it is the predecessor to adobe audition fyi they bought them out...you could use cakewaddle or whatever but it is bloated and complicated.

bass player's wife's ntsc dv tape camera. i know. it would have been way* worse had i not had a dv wire, and had to stream it usb so i'll take what i can get for a live show at a gutter glam party

you can take panty hose (stockings, whatever you call them), cut off the end of the leg then put the camera up in with it scrunched/folded around the mic. It will even out your sound for $2 - 99.9% of the onboard mic's on those pieces are programmed to pic up joe blow standing 30' from it - not being pounded with music.

And I used to use cool edit, but the last time I got it (which was YEARS ago) it downloaded freaking gator ads with it

The one thing I learned about recording is that you should do it for fun and keep it to yourself until you know what the hell you're doing/have talent.
