hardee's might be an NC name, but it's hardly an NC food, seeing as it's owned by the same folks that own carl's jr

[Edited on June 29, 2010 at 1:28 PM. Reason : carl's, not carl]

Quote :
"Hardee's founder, Wilbur Hardee, opened his first restaurant in Greenville, North Carolina, on September 9, 1960 [6]. On the strength of its manly menu items, including the Huskee, the chain experienced rapid growth by franchising and, to a lesser extent, by acquiring other restaurant chains. The first company store opened in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, in May 1961 by James Carson Gardner and Leonard Rawls on McDonald St. in downtown Rocky Mount. That location has since been razed.[7] According to Wilbur Hardee, Gardner and Rawls won a controlling share of the company from him in a game of poker. After realizing that he lost control over his namesake company, Hardee sold his remaining shares to them as well.[8] The chain was headquartered in Rocky Mount until 2001."

No son.
Calabash is in NC.
I was there Saturday. Ate at Ella's.
SC is like three miles away.

SUN DROP!!!!
The buffet restaurant chain Golden Corral calls North Carolina home

North Carolinians can claim the credit for Brunswick stew and Calabash-style seafood. Both were concocted in North Carolina and use the respective founding towns in the name.

The Slim Jim was created by GoodMark Foods Inc., which was later bought by ConAgra.

"Sun Drop was developed by Charles Lazier in St. Louis, Missouri in 1928.[2] While riding around town in the family car, Lazier quickly scribbled a recipe for a new soft drink on a small piece of paper, which he handed to his son, Charles Jr. The younger Lazier worked as a lab technician at his father’s plant, and soon began work on the formula. Two years later, Sundrop debuted at the American Bottlers of Carbonated Beverages Conference in Washington, D.C."

"Bone Suckin' Sauce"

they export to over 40 countries worldwide

no other NC sauces come close to tasting as good and no other NC sauces being exported to over 40 countries. The owner of the company took about 20 min out of his time at the Gotta Be NC festival a couple of weeks ago to talk to me. That def struck a cord with me on top of their unbelievable products.

Im sorry but if you have tasted one NC vinegar based BBQ sauce, you have pretty much tasted them all....

I've never had Bone Suckin' Sauce, though I have some in my fridge my mom gave me.

What do you do with it? Can you just grill with it?
