I have a friend who went to the bahamas, flordia, etc. and took around 600 pics on their SD card. Then accidnetally erased them all (not sure if they did it through a pc or formatted on the camera). They said that Geek Squad told them it was doable for around $1,200... I did not think it was possible to begin with. Any geniuses out there know if it is possible to do on your own? 7/3/2010 2:36:26 PM |

Recuva and PhotoRec are free; PhotoRec is even open-source, under the GPL. 7/3/2010 9:18:42 PM |

Sometimes depending on the camera, your camera will not show up as a drive letter. You cannot run these recovery programs unless you put the card in a card reader... I haven't found a way to remap a USB port (\\.\usbscan0) for example as a drive letter. 7/4/2010 2:22:40 AM |

Recuva is useful software, I've used it to recover accidentally deleted files on several machines. 7/7/2010 2:39:21 PM |
