This is actually a serious thread. So there's this one student in the college calc class I'm teaching, and by eye-contact, little verbal interchanges, etc. I'm pretty sure that there is a mutual feeling going on. However, naturally I cannot start dating her right now w/o getting fired. I am quite a bit older than her, since she is a freshman and I'm 28 (commence flaming), but what the hell, she's a woman and I'm a man. Anyhow, I was thinking I could either

A. continue doing what I can for the remaining seven classes, let the flirting and eye-contact go on without any result and look like a pussy for doing nothing, and then ask her out when the semester ends, necessarily by e-mail or Facebook.

B. go up to her after class one day while she's sitting at a table outside with her laptop, explain briefly and tactfully that I like her and would be interested in hanging out with her after the semester ends, and see what happens.

C. ask her out in front of the whole class.

I'm leaning towards B at the moment, but what the hell do you think, TWW?

I say B, but don't say shit. Just write you number on a piece of paper with your name on it. Walk up to her and give her the paper. Say something like "Hey how's it going?" if you need to get her attention, but you don't need to say much or anything at all. Let the mystery of who you are eat away at her. Your mission is just to give her your name and number. Then the balls in her court. As an out, you could say, "Hey, listen, I've got to run, but I just wanted to share this with you. See you around..." Worked 3/3 for me. Single guys, take note.

dude, she is not into you. she may be kinda flirting because you are the teacher and if you are remotely attractive that makes you fair game for flirting, but she is not into you. we have all dated someone too young for us at some point because they were hot and the sex was good, but your age difference is enough that she will find it creepy. if you were 23 maybe you would have a shot, but not at 28. the fact that you mentioned "explain briefly and tactfully that I like her " indicates that you probably don't have a lot of luck or experience with girls but this plan is fucking terrible. what else did you consider, a note that says, "do you like me, yes or no?" talking about that kinda shit is a surefire way to not have a chance, most girls are not idiots and they will get that you are interested because you are trying to hang out (a note to many people on here, if she is out of your league she may be oblivious to your intentions).

now that we have established that you don't have a chance, let's talk about the idea of dating a girl who is 18. what in the hell could you possible have in common with this girl? i mean if its just about sex its probably not worth it if it jeopardizes your employment, and really what else could it be about? now don't get me wrong, i'm 25 and would have no problem fooling around with a freshman if i had the chance but dating? you think she wants to hang out with you and your old friends (not at bars, she is too young)? no, she wants to get drunk in shitty apartments and make out with random guys at parties.

in conclusion you have no shot, it would be a terrible idea even if you did, and it indicates that you probably don't have a lot of luck or experience with girls just making you have even more or no shot.

thanks for all the helpful advice, people...so far the sum of female advice seems to be "no, that shit's creepy" and "poke her with your dick."

I'm still undecided. People like ^^^^ really cannot comment with such detail on the situation because they have not witnessed it firsthand. But surely they themselves have known what what it is like when there is chemistry with a woman, and anyhow ^^^^ certainly is not justified in rejecting in my chances out of hand. Btw

Is this seriously how most people date? Worring about all this excess shit? I've only been in 2 longish term relationships but I just got to know them and asked them out. Didn't seem to be too complicated. Then again I am terrible at and hate dating.
