nvm. I'm a hardware n00b. I didnt realize you didnt need jumpers with a Sata drive....even though there's a jumper block adjacent to the Sata interface.

For future reference Intrex computers in Raleigh/Durham/Cary/Greensboro are my go-to for computer parts. Their prices are like buying from newegg or monoprice without waiting. 7/8/2010 5:12:36 PM |

Yeah, Intrex is pretty darn expensive in my experience with them. 7/9/2010 8:39:24 AM |

Rofl, that is one of the funnier things I have read lately. Intrex prices are inflated quite a bit -- you can find a better deal at Best Buy, Tiger Direct, etc. The only time I will consider Intrex is if I am in a bind and need a component for a build ASAP with no regard for price. However, if you are not in a hurry, Newegg.com will be cheaper every time, and usually will include free shipping.7/9/2010 8:48:30 AM |

their memory and hard drive prices are through the freaking roof. hell best buy might even have them beat on hard drive pricing (lol). their networking stuff is some off brand, for which they charge retail linksys prices for.
it's good when you need something yesterday, and i hit em up every couple months for that, but their prices are pretty crappy in my book. i wish there was still a tiger direct on crapital, and that it was located closer to me.

Have you not been in a while? It's a CompUSA now, and is still very much open (and very much cheaper than Intrex)7/9/2010 9:37:31 AM |

I wasn't going to say anything about this since its been a while since I shopped at an Intrex so I assumed their prices must have come down a lot.
Judging by the responses though, they have not and this claim is as LOL as I thought it was when I first read it.7/9/2010 9:42:53 AM |

correct. there is no good retail computer store in Raleigh. TD/CUSA & Intrex are both overpriced garbage. But damn, I'm glad they are there when I need something quick. 7/9/2010 6:31:53 PM |

Ok, I guess I should say I don't buy parts at Intrex. I get things like IDE to SATA power links, and ethernet cabling. All that other stuff comes to my door - this is for the trinkets to make it all work together that I always forget. 7/9/2010 10:27:36 PM |

seems like RTP would be a good spot for Microcenter/Fry's. spent some at Fry's last time I went to see my siblings in Atlanta.
