I know one guy wanted to get his toe cut off so he didn't have to join be sent overseas in the military because he just found out his wife was pregnant on house too.

There was also a guy on Grey's Anatomy that wanted his leg cut off so he could get a fake one so he could be deployed again. He was in constant pain in that leg and he was tired of being jacked up on pain meds so he wanted to just chop it off.

On House there was one guy that wanted to cut off his big toe because he didn't want to be deployed overseas since he and his wife just found out she was pregnant.

The guy didn't want to be deployed and he had an infection in his foot. He didn't take his medicine until the infection spread and they had to amputate the foot. The doctors wouldn't amputate until they needed to and he would be deployed unless it was amputated.
