...might be the most important tastemaker of the next generation.

Think of the kind of bands the kids who watch this shit are going to start, not to mention the kind of cred they already have.

"Yeah, I knew about the Shins when I was three."

"The lullaby my mom used to sing me is by Red House Painters."

I thought The Aquabats were the ones who started it in the first place, because they were sick of their kids watching stupid shit on TV?

Kids are learning how to beatbox on Yo Gabba Gabba, I mean that's pretty awesome.

But seriously, the show makes kids want to get up and dance. Unlike most shows where kids just sit there and are out of it.
Plus it's cool to see who is a guest.

"Created by Christian Jacobs (lead singer of the Aquabats) and Scott Schultz"

Quote :
"Unlike most educational children’s’ shows, “Yo Gabba Gabba” was not developed by network executives. Instead the show was developed by two Southern California dads with no previous experience writing for television let alone children’s’ broadcasting. They simply shared a mutual disappointment in kids’ television. They both wanted to design a kids' show that was both educational and entertaining while featuring real artists and real performers. . The pair first started working together as teenagers, producing and directing skateboarding videos.[5] After doing some odd jobs here and there, Jacobs and Schultz decided to try something different.

In 1999, after becoming parents themselves, the pair started playing around with ideas for children television. They later produced a pilot independently financed by small loans from friends and family. Even after producing the pilots, “Yo Gabba Gabba” did not get much attention until it started circulating the internet. It happened to get viewed by Jared Hess, the director of Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre who then phoned Brown Johnson, the executive vice president and executive creative director of Nickelodeon Preschool and told her to check it out.[6] As soon as she saw it she said, “Lordy nothing else looks like this on TV”.[citation needed] “Yo Gabba Gabba” finally found its home on Nickelodeon on August 20, 2007."

I really do love this show, though. Eric's niece goes ape shit for it but her parents think it's "kinda weird." I volunteer to watch with her every time we visit And the toys they have out? AWESOME.

They're super conservative so to them, sadly, weird doesn't equal a good thing.

I tried to convince someone to watch this show one time.

They were not insightful enough to understand why the show was amusing.

See, this pic is priceless, because from behind the glasses and the silly grin, his eyes are pleading, "Let me out! Dear God, please let me wake up from this horrible, horrible nightmare."

motherfucker has the easiest job on the most popular kids show on tv

gets to hang out with all kinds of badass actors and bands

and doesn't even have to talk because they dub his lines for extra weirdness

The recent Bugs episode was great. It had Weezer, Tim Armstrong, and Mix Master Mike packed into 24 minutes. This show has Mark Mothersbaugh in almost every episode. How can you not like it?
