Fair Gameplay Rules
1. Kickoffs: Onside kicks are not allowed unless you are a) behind 10 pts or more or b) you are behind in the 4th quarter. An occasional onside kick to surprise your opponent is ok but use them within reason.

2. Fourth Down: Whenever in a 4th down situation, the offensive player must punt unless it is a 4th and short situation from beyond your team's 40yd line or in your opponent's territory. Going for it while behind in a late game situation is also acceptable. As with onside kicks, an occasional fake or 4th down attempt in short yardage situations to catch your opponent off guard is fine.

3. Substitutions: Quite a few teams now have their own version of the wildcat formation, so using the in-game qb-hb player subs is acceptable. Manually substituting the hb for the qb in other formations to exploit the defensive AI isn't allowed.

4. QB Play: Whenever possible, stay inside the pocket unless you are forced out. Boot legs and designed roll outs are ok. Dropping back 20 yds or running around with a scrambling qb to complete a pass isn't allowed.

5. Sportsmanship:
a) No running up the score. For our purposes, defeating your opponent by 35 points or more is excessive.
b) Stat padding will be frowned upon especially against another user controlled team. When up by more than 2 scores late in the game, take advantage of the new Chew Clock feature and run the ball. Avoid getting an extra score when you can just run the clock out by kneeling.

6. Disconnects: These are an unfortunate consequence of playing online. Whenever 2 users are disconnected early in a game, the users will play a new game. If a disconnect occurs in the 2nd half, one of three things can happen:
a) both coaches can agree to start a new game at 0-0
b) the team trailing can concede defeat (note: the trailing team will automatically concede defeat if losing by more than 2 scores with less than 2 min to go); or
c) if an agreement can't be reached, I'll flip a coin. Heads-the team leading gets the win, Tails- a new game will be played
*don't attempt to disconnect by pulling the plug because you're losing. Please report any suspected user disconnects of this type.

7. Game Scheduling: The league will advance every 3-4 days. If you're playing another user controlled team, it is your responsibility to contact the other player and get the game played.

8. Vacation/Extended Absence: Being gone more than 3 days will result in your team being put on autopilot and everything simulated. The team will be returned to your control when you return.

9. Misc:
a) 1-AA(FCS) teams will be replaced with a 3* or above team of your choice.
b) Default team playbook must be used
c) 3 Strikes and you're out policy- 3 complaints will result in removal from the league. If a player is breaking one of the rules, let them know. If they continue, save a couple of the video highlights and send me a pm.
d) Multiple restarts against cpu controlled teams will not be allowed.
e) Rules may be added or amended at anytime.


I will get the league set up this weekend and send out invites. Post your gamertag in this thread. Anyone who doesn't respond to this thread by Sunday night is at risk of being replaced.

We're not going to do no bowl games, simply because the game won't recognize the penalty situation and and it will put you in a bowl regardless, and it would be dumb to make you intentionally lose that game.

So USC will operate as normal, however they do lose Seantrel Henderson and Malik Jackson, neither of whom will make or break the team anyway.

I'm good with Stanford. I only have 3 OOC games though, I-AA (Sacramento State), home vs Wake Forest, and @ Notre Dame. I want to keep Wake and ND, and need to replace a home game vs I-AA Sept 4 (or bye week Oct 16th week).


How about Michigan State at Stanford week 1? Looks like they have Western Michigan that can probably be moved to Week 2 to accommodate the matchup without disrupting anything but the Western Michigan-Nicholls State game? We can make it a home and home to give MSU the home game in 2011.

If Jaybee doesn't bite I'll try to pick a backup opponent.

We're going to use the pastapadre roster, the default named rosters with no changes, except for the few ones I mentioned like removing Masoli, Henderson, Jackson, and anyone else we think of before we start

I'll try to get this all set up tonight...as far as the cross conference games, it will probably take a few days of back and forth ball grabbing for six sets of teams to agree to a challenge. So I think I might just use my executive powers and choose the matchups that fit the best with regards to schedule and team quality...so USC would play someone like Ohio State, not Michigan State.

I'm going to replace 1-AA opponents with a random 3 star team, and replace another OOC game with the cross conference game. I think you should still have a relatively easy game in place in lieu of the 1-AA game, but we know from experience that the 1-AA teams are so bad that you can score 50 points by halftime without really trying. I'll sub out another OCC game for the "challenge" game, but I will keep the big matchups like Ohio State-Miami and Penn State-Bama.

If this sounds confusing, fuck you. Everything will be sorted out later this evening.
