The story on her dad is, people were messing with his daughter and he reacted in a poorly-thought-out video. It makes sense that he would want to defend her, but instead of actually putting people off and helping her, he's drawn more attention to the situation. And not in a good way.

The whole thing is just weird. 4chan is a frightening entity.

Maybe this is just a symptom of my age, but I don't understand the need for people to respond to things in video form. In her position, I would sure as hell not make a reaction video of me crying about it; I would delete my YouTube account and cover my Internet tracks. But I've noticed that even my students, who are all born post-1990, will put any and everything about their lives online. There are certain things that shouldn't be spectacle, and there should be a point where if her dad wants to defend her, getting her off the Internet would be a great start.
