I used to run a small message board website for my friends, but that died about a year ago. I still have the domain name and don't want to get rid of it, but can't really think of any uses for it. I stopped paying for hosting, and wouldn't mind trying to set something up at home, but don't really know what.

I was thinking about possibly running some kind of remote desktop service to my laptop/PC, or possibly having some kind of print server that I could set up and use to print stuff at home from my office, etc. I don't even know if the printer thing is possible, but I imagine it is. I also wouldn't mind setting up a file server or something, but I'd just have shitty old Comcast internet. The upload would probably be garbage and it might not even be worth it. Anyone have any other interesting ideas? The "how" part can get worked out once I figure out what to do.

(Also, if this should go in TT, feel free to move it.)

though it'd require some extra hardware, a front-end GUI for http://www.mythtv.org/ via your site

Who needs MythTV now with Hulu, Netflix, and Torrents now? There's no reason to ever use a PVR again.
