I had a friend who paid a lawyer to take care of a ticket for him. Yeah, the lawyer didn't show up for court. He got pulled over for speeding a couple months later and they slapped the cuffs on him.

I would advise your friend to go down to the Clerk of Court to square it all away ASAP

^That. My lawyer missed a court date, and the DMV sent me a letter saying that my license was suspended for 6 months...No warrant for some reason. Somehow my dude got it to disappear and I never heard anything again.

Not sure what the calender will say about the warrant but search his name, it will have some info.

we live in a free country.

this freedom, however, comes with a price.

Across state lines, these things have a way of dissapearing, or at least getting lost in the flood

I have one from Texas a few years back that I've never heard from again

Maybe my name is up on wanted posters in all the saloons

seriously though, it's not worth having to freak out every time a cop is behind you on the road. if he goes to the Clerk of Court, they will most likely dismiss the warrant and issue him a new court date.

lol back in 2005 I was working with a dude that got a speeding ticket in like 1976 in some random state like Nebraska. He moved shortly after the ticket and forgot about it completely. Fast forward to 2005 and he was back in Nebraska for something and got pulled for turning right at a "no turn on red". Sho nuff his name came up when they ran his license and they put him in cuffs. Kinda lame but I guess the cop has to do his job too.
