So my sister is now in charge of selling a line of clothing. She needs something she can carry the entire line around in. Currently shes pushing Tahoe, but based on her finances 25k should be a hard limit.
Any other vehicles you guys would suggest? i was thinking CX-9?
Also the better fuel mileage she gets the more she can bank. 7/27/2010 7:39:43 AM |

I don't normally push Ford, but there really isn't anything else like the Transit available in the US. 7/27/2010 7:45:30 AM |

How about an Azteck?
Seriously though, how about a Honda Element? Or a minivan of some type. If she's after maximum interior capacity and good gas mileage an SUV is not a good choice. Minivan or station wagon's the way to go.

how big is this line of clothing? I got a minivan for $500 and its utility is awesome. I use the back seats as auxiliary couches in my house and strap down stuff where the seats connected in the back. its my motor home, transport, spare car when shit breaks, and drunk hauler. I went for a 1995 so I only ever needed a safety inspection. 7/27/2010 9:32:13 AM |

Honestly, ive been pushing a transit van, or a mini van, but she wont budge.
Its a line of womens surf skate stuff, and I guess she wants to look "Cool" to buyers. 7/27/2010 10:33:59 AM |

Surf clothing? +1 on the woody, or an old VW microbus. 7/27/2010 10:56:59 AM |

Actually you know what has an old woody-ish vibe, at least to me, is the Ford Flex. Get one of those in a bold non-metallic color with the white roof, replace the stock wheel treatment with some steelies and baby moon caps, accessorize with surf/skate stickers and a board carrier on the roof, and remove the 3rd row seat. Plenty of cargo space, interesting vibe, and a pretty good vehicle from what I've heard. 7/27/2010 3:46:31 PM |

Why does the Transit Connect get such lousy gas mileage?
If you're only getting 20mpg you might as well get that mercedes/dodge bread truck. 7/27/2010 4:02:16 PM |

So is she selling the stuff right out of the vehicle?
In that case, I definitely second the Ford Transit. It's deisgned for business use and there are a lot of interior configurations available. You can easily put graphics on the exterior to advertise the business.
If not that, then something hip-looking like a Scion xD or Chevy HHR.
22mpg city is about as good as cheap vans get.

It's Transit-Connect. The Ford Transit is only sold in Europe. It's a full size van like the Dodge Sprinter.
A woody transit-connect could be cool. Who says you can't have a good time in one?

Shes not selling out of the vehicle
She goes around to stores and tries to get the store to carry her product line.
The store orders though her and then they put it on the shelves (i guess they ship it).
Guess its an image thing. 7/27/2010 8:23:32 PM |

Does she know how much Tahoe's cost? I would vote transit connect. She could get the ford+custom graphics wrap and save 10 grand over a new Tahoe.
(Although from the OP I guess she isn't necessarily looking at new) 7/27/2010 9:24:28 PM |
