Does anybody know of a place in Raleigh that will make me a set of brake lines? My stock lines are 12" long and after the lift, Id like to have my lines be 18-20" long. That way I could have a little slack. Id like to get a set of stainless braided lines made, but if all I can get done is rubber hose then thats fine too. I can get sets online, I just dont wanna pay $40 bucks a line. 7/28/2010 5:51:03 PM |

$40 doesn't sound like a bad price for a 20" braided stainless line. 7/29/2010 10:56:11 AM |

^ It does when I would have to grind the calipers to get those lines to fit. Thats why i want some made with factory ends/fittings but longer. 7/29/2010 5:56:17 PM |

im sure theres a place online that sells them.
you can either cheap out and run the risk of god knows what, or you can spend the money and do it right the first time 7/29/2010 6:37:26 PM |

They are going on a 99 s10 2wd. Some folks online claim you can use the lines from a c1500 or a newer silverado 1500 2wd but those lines are long as shit. I measured some at advance the other day and the silverado line was 30" long. The c1500 lines were 26". I figured getting some made would be doing it the right way the first time. 7/29/2010 8:57:11 PM |

i know i know, i catch shit all the time for lifting a 2wd, but you gotta make do with what you have. I dont have the money for a 4x4 right now so the 2wd is gonna have to do for now. The sad thing is with a 5" in the front and 3" in the back, it still only fits 31s 7/30/2010 4:15:33 AM |

You gotta start hacking the fenders and spacing the wheels out to go bigger. Have fun! 7/30/2010 9:21:39 AM |

you should be able to find some generic ones for a bigger truck. trick is fabbing some brackets where the brake line and hoses meet.
Id and thread sizes on brake hoses are pretty standard. 7/30/2010 9:18:02 PM |
