i wouldn't say it doesn't exist but it's definitely over diagnosed, misdiagnosed, etc. i find it ridiculous when someone wants to say a kindergarten child has adhd because he won't sit still to do worksheets. seriously? he is 5. get a fucking clue.

I think that ADD/ADHD definitely exists in children. I was very ADHD as a kid and so were/are lots of my cousins but you tend to grow out of it, most do anyway. but there are, say, 5% of adults that retain the true ADHD and you can tell very quickly because that 5% have very pronounced symptoms lack of attention and/or hyperactivity

but yeah it often gets thrown around as a buzzword for "I can't keep a handle on my kids, it's not my fault, they're just born that way"

I have a serious case of weather A.D.D. It doesn't take much for me to get distracted by clouds or any other fascinating weather phenomenon. I also have a mild case of nature A.D.D. where I become entranced by a tree, bird or cute, furry animal.

One friend in high school had a brother who was seriously ADD. She brought in videos of him flipping out and shit. It was kinda scary and sad to then realize that so many people are misdiagnosed when there were real cases that actually needed help.

This was for like, an english paper that dealt with serious issues. I did mine on Alzheimer's, as my Grandfather had it.

Sometimes when my boss is teaching me something, or talking in general I find myself thinking about sex/drugs/rocknroll etc. I tell my self to pay attention but I cant. I NEED THIS DRUG. I am too lazy to go to a doctor though, so I live with my crazy brain.

^^yeah, I have a high tolerance for most drugs, but the smallest amount of adderall (like 5mg) works best for me

Motherfucking psychiatrist had me taking 30-40mg a day back in high school. I was a fucking zombie.
