Got a short notice thing about a friend moving- she's got an awesome sleeper sofa I can have, but I need to get it moved. Tommorow morning (or it goes to goodwill).

So I'm looking for a couple guys and a truck who can move a sofa from a 3rd story apt in cary, to a different 2nd story apt in cary (about 10 minutes at most apart, probably less - basically off Kildaire and off Tryon).

That's it. One sofa and you're done. I may have one other person who can help, but not sure about that.

Figure earn yourself a quick ~$20?

no offense, and i could be totally wrong, but you probably wont be able to convince anyone to do all that back breaking work for $20 (or $10 if you expect two people to split the money). sleeper sofas are heavy as shit, So carrying that down 3 flights of steps, and having to haul it in their gas-guzzling truck, and hauling up 2 more flights...and on such short notice, you should probably wave that awesome sleeper sofa goodbye.

If they want to negotiate the $, I'm ok with that too - frankly. (I actually don't know how heavy a sleeper is.) - as far as gas guzzling trucks-well yes. But there's about 5 miles between the two locations + whatever they drive to get there. Unless they're driving something with some truly insane gas mileage or are driving from the other side of the city ....

(also - 2 flights, 1 flight - which is irrelevant to your point but as an FYI if anyone is looking at it.).

We just moved a sleeper sofa (at least 250-300lbs) from a 3rd story apt to another 3rd story apt tonight. I did half the work, and paid another guy $40 and thought it could have been to low. And I was using my own damn truck.

Well I don't have my own "damn truck". And like I said above- if that was too low, which clearly it is - if someone would like to quote me what they'd like for it- fine.

Apparently I forgot, nothing satisfies the snarks on TWW, even saying they're right.

And as for doing part of the work myself- 2 screws in my knee + a fucked up ankle says not happening.

Yeah. fuck this. Couch can go to goodwill, if asking folks what they want to do such a thing just isn't good enough.

classifieds is worthless nowadays, you cant post something in here without someone pointing out that you are trying to rip everyone off and you are either charging too much for whatever you are selling, or you are paying too little for whatever service you are looking for

classifieds is probably the worst forum on this whole website

I normally do this sort of thing, but sleeper sofas are very heavy.
