is the VD of ABC.
I hope they don't take it the wrong way when I send this on the envelope for the monthly beer delivery report.
no need to post in this thread, I just thought it was funny and thought I would share.

Government control of alcohol stores is fucking ridiculous. If we can blame and sue tobacco companies for smoking related problems then we should blame and sue the government for alcohol related problems.
Yes, I prefer stupidity be fairly applied if it has to exist. 8/11/2010 2:52:08 PM |

I like the NC ABC stores. They have a crapload better selection than the liquor stores I used to live by in Vermont and New York. 8/11/2010 2:57:07 PM |

Selection may be good, but that has nothing to do with the government. 8/11/2010 2:58:32 PM |

Get this.
They want me to file a report monthly with the FULL NAME of the person receiving, DATE, INVOICE NUMBER, HOME ADDRESS, #OFBEERS BOUGHT, HOW MANY OUNCES OF BEER, WHAT TYPE OF BEER, and PRICE I CHARGED.
They don't ask for DATE OF BIRTH.
The only thing that really matters!!!!!!!
They make me total up the number of ounces of beer, which was only 1560 ounces, but they don't make me total up the total of dollars. Why they'd be concerned with the number of ounces consumed by lots of people baffles me.
They also want me to have a form separating beer and ciders like woodchuck and strongbow. They both are in the same range of alcohol percentages. It doesn't make fucking sense.

From a utilitarian standpoint, it might make sense (to some people) to have a state run liquor store. After all, the inefficiency inherent in any bureaucracy drives up prices. Also, the massive tax levied on alcohol products drives up the price even more. This works out great for the people that think their morality is superior and worth imposing on all citizens. 8/11/2010 7:12:27 PM |
