USA should always be the first choice in the list since we pretty much run things on the internet anyway.

itt I await your affirmation.

While I agree, these select your location things are completely pointless and a waste of my time. They could easily enough determine your location automatically and do away with this mess.

websites should never ask for location. They should assume usa and then put something in the lower right corner to change location.

I just want to say that I dislike when websites don't have a generic category/page for people who don't want to input their location

(and if you were using a proxy, they wouldn't reliably be able to know where you are anyway, amirite?)

it is only to your benefit to put in the actual location

the pain is that you have to

I think the choices should be "USA" and "Not USA".

^^^ Generally speaking, yes.

But sometimes you don't want to pigeonhole yourself (especially if you travel a lot or live in various places)

[Edited on August 12, 2010 at 6:42 PM. Reason : ^ and you know it's not only about language, right? There are geographical restrictions sometimes..]

websites should never ask your location

they should read it via your IP

and if you're behind a proxy, stop trying to h4x

I would never try to H4x my location when I'm Off Kaplan.
I could understand if there was an official Off Kaplan proxy that we could connect to when we travel though.
