Its a five step process to get actual decent new users on here.


First, we get all the losers who register for their school's message board rather than get completely shitfaced during the first few weeks of school like everyone else.

Next, we get the tech geeks who want to discuss Warcraft strategy or need some advice about which kind of SATA cables to buy.

Third, we get the sports nuts who want somewhere to rant about how student ticketing sucks or how Owen Spencer can't catch an STD.

Fourth, we get the wannabe student activists who take up their cause in the Lounge and the Soapbox, urging us to carpool and recycle

Finally, the normal people start trickling in out of boredom and distraction from school work.


Out of all of these people, we're lucky to get two or three real quality posters in any given year. And even thats optimistic.

I joined solely for the classifieds, and rarely posted out of there until I left NCSU. Since it's been an awesome link to Raleigh/NCSU and the true wolfpack - not the old guys who buy 8 season tickets for their family and donate 100K to the scholarship funds. Not that they're bad, just a skewed view of NCSU.

I didn't join until sophomore year even though my E115 told my class about brentroad.com on the first day of freshman year.

I lurked for a good 2+ years until I needed some people to play SSBM with. It's been all downhill from there.
