for whatever reason i feel like espn wants us to be relevant in football. it seems like we've had some great opportunities over the years we just havent capitalized on them.
gameday in 04 ncsu vs vt game in 05 being the first game of the year. also being marcus vick's first start. seemingly always having thursday night home games. kicking off college football w/ south carolina the last two years. two home thursday night games this year. chickfila game next year vs tennessee
maybe i'm crazy though. 8/17/2010 9:52:24 PM |

I've thought the same before. After 4 straight losing seasons, it's a miracle that we have not one, but two ESPN games this season. Granted they're on Thursday nights, so we're not really competing with other games, but still. 8/18/2010 9:24:51 AM |

Sucks that our game vs UCF is on at the same time that Penn State plays Alabama
I'll keep my eye on the state game, but any real college football fan will have most of their attention tuned to Tuscaloosa 8/18/2010 9:31:45 AM |

well yeah, that's to be expected of the general college football fan. Just like the Miami - Ohio St game will be the primetime game that same afternoon.
But if you were a real State fan, you wouldn't just have your "eye" on our game. 8/18/2010 9:44:51 AM |

I'd rather watch NC State play so I am not a real college football fan. Oh noes!! I'll be checking in on the PSU-Alabama game, but damn if I am missing any plays in the State-UCF game unless it becomes a blowout.8/18/2010 11:01:45 AM |

Well, it's not like he was all "yay State" in this game either. There were turnover plays that if you heard his commentary you wouldn't have thought anything had happened other than an incomplete pass.
Excepting, of course, his crush on Audie Cole. 9/12/2010 5:02:56 PM |

I can't believe everybody enjoyed him as a commentator. I mean, he's quirky and odd and that's somewhat amusing but for such an offensive guru and pretty good coach, his commentary was awful. His "breakdown" of our 2nd touchdown was "he's over there, the cornerback is over here, something happened to make him go over here when he should be over there."
I'm a pretty big fan of Leach the coach, but I really hope he adds some actual analysis to his random musings for the future 9/12/2010 5:29:02 PM |

Gonna be interesting to hear him comment on how Riley has tweaked his Air-Raid offense into the ARRRRRRR-Raid offense.
Basically his entire former staff and some former players comprise ECU's new staff.

Really nice job, I liked the little text touches here and there, almost all of the Leachisms, and the HD quality is really good.
I think the only significant one I missed was the "Look at that catch! He catches it with his hands. Look at him catch it with his hands!" one, but most of it is gold. 9/12/2010 10:05:21 PM |

actually, i didn't know he was doing the game, he sounds like Dennis Hopper after he's smoked a pound of pot.
however, he was actually pretty insightful during the game. He was explaining how our defense could be neutralized by running receivers at certain angles, stuff i had never heard before at least, maybe he was making it up. 9/13/2010 12:32:46 AM |
