I've cut my stencils with razors before
I'm hoping that laser cut stencils can be more detailed and, if cut into the right material, more durable 8/18/2010 3:19:31 PM |

thats too general though... steel or aluminum? thickness? external dimensions? 8/18/2010 3:24:09 PM |

sheet metal would be good
or maybe some heavy duty acetate
you could probably roll that up and store/transport it in a tube 8/18/2010 3:24:22 PM |

provide material and i'll cut it... plastic does not require abrasive and therefore is cheaper to cut. cutting envelope is 40" x 40" but it could be cut in stages (one piece of plastic though) 8/18/2010 3:31:30 PM |

a .dxf with only lines and arcs will work, no spline curves.
[Edited on August 18, 2010 at 3:45 PM. Reason : If you have an image file I can create the dxf myself] 8/18/2010 3:43:08 PM |

There's some place in Durham, I think, that has a machine and you can do them for free--seriously. I saw a news report about it a few months back. I'll try to find it.

You didn't know about it because their marketing sucks and will probably be the downfall of the place.
I was a charter member, but my membership expired on saturday.
